2 Rooms or a 2 BR Villa near MK?

Our family is getting bigger (and older), we have 2 boys - 16, 19 and 2 parents = 1 kid and 3 Disney adults. The last trip we stayed at the GF in a deluxe room so it had 2 queens plus an alcove with a pull out sofa. I loved it and thought it was roomy enough but DH thought it was a little tight.

So, would it be better/cheaper for us to get 2 rooms or a 2 br villa?

Last time we LOVED the GF and being so close to MK - we stayed at WL for our first 2 trips, we've never stayed at the Contemporary but DH isn't sold on the theme (or lack thereof if you ask him) so the Poly is an option too in the MK area.

I guess my main question(s) are on logistics. How do we book 2 rooms? Call vs. on-line reservation? I would want DxDP, but would that be like 2 rooms: 1 room with 1 adult & 1 kid and 1 room with 2 adults? and then add the memory maker on 1 reservation? I guess both rooms would have to have dining booked with them, right?

There shouldn't be a issue with me booking dining for 4 under 1 name and having them all listed under only 1 reservation, right?

Is there an issue with getting 2 rooms connected or close together? Do I just request that when I speak to an agent?

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Recommendations??

THANKS!!

On property 2 rooms is going to be cheaper than a 2 br villa. Booking 2 rooms means 2 reservations, 2 down payments, etc. There is no way to book multiple rooms under 1 reservation. The dining plan will be attached to each reservation if you choose to book it for all of you. You will be able to give one credit card for both rooms though. The two reservations can be linked as "traveling with" and they will see that and try to put you near each other. It's usually not a problem. If you want connecting rooms that is a specific request you'll have to give.

If having the rooms connecting or close together is a deal breaker, then I would book a 2br villa. There is no guarantee that they will be able to meet the request. So you have to decide how big of a deal it would be if the rooms were apart from each other.

If you want them connected for certain, go with a 2 bedroom villa. Or even a 1 bedroom villa. The pullouts at BLT are pretty decent....there is a pullout chair and a pullout couch, so your sons could each have their own sleeping space.

I would price them both out and see what kind of pricing you get. If you book two rooms, as PP noted, its two reservations with two deposits. You can request connecting, but it's not guaranteed, Yes, you would book 2 adults in one room and 1 adult, 1 child in the other. Yes, memory maker on just one room, dining on both rooms. You can book dining reservations for all 4 of you under one reservation and can book all FP+ at the same time as well.

We've traveled with extended family in two rooms and it's very simple. You just have to be ok with possibly not getting a connecting room.

That being said, we LOVE 2-bedroom villas. If you liked WL, I would price out Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek. You will get a full kitchen and washer/dryer in the villa. You could also price out BLT (though I prefer WL over CR). VGF villas are very hard to get.

Personally, I would do two rooms at Poly or GF (or even WL) or a 2-bedroom at BRV, CCV or BLT.

I would look into the 1BR Villa. BLT would be a great choice for MK area. There is a pull out and sleeping chair, and also a 2nd bathroom. I would pick this over any two regular rooms, with the full kitchen, laundry, and extra living space.
