Well...it depends really.
The 2 rooms at an All Star will give you some extra room and 2 bathrooms. But you get the same amount of space in the cabins, and you could probably give the kids baths at night, and not have an early morning logjam for the bathroom in the morning, in the cabins.
You say the cabins are significantly more money, and on the surfact that may be correctly, but look at your overall budget. You can save OODLES of money (and time) by having simple breakfasts in the cabin. Cold cereal, bagels, toaster waffles, etc. There is a full kitchen, so you could cook if you wanted to.
For us, last January (2004) We stayed in the cabins, had breakfast in every morning, ate 2 lunches in, and 2 dinners in, and the food savings alone offset the extra charge. Plus we were able to get a cabin at a GREAT AP rate during Value season ($139/night).
We REALLY enjoyed the campground a lot.
Good Luck on your decision
