Hey everyone! My name is Amber and I am from California. I am new to these boards and just wanted to say hello. I also have a quick question: My sister and I are planning to take a trip to WDW next year and I was just wondering, 1) What time of year is best to go? and 2) Which is the best (and most affordable) place to book the trip?

Thanks!

Well, if you can do it. Avoid all school holidays. If I could go anytime I wanted to, I would pick the time between Halloween & Thanksgiving. Low crowds, great weather and Christmas decorations (same for the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas too). And, this time of year, it may still be warm enough to hit a water park. FL weather that time of year...you can get just about anything.

We stayed at Pop Century in February. It's a value resort, but if all you need is a place to sleep & shower, it's perfect as far as I'm concerned. My daughter and I are staying at a moderate resort in October, so I'm anxious to compare. We don't hang out in our room at all so as long as it's clean, I"m good.

Check out allears.net too......great info on that site as well.

good luck planning....i'm trying to plan a trip out to CA to Disneyland since my brother & his fam live in Petaluma.

First of all, I would suggest that you head over to www.disneyworld.com. Click on Tickets and Reservations. When that screen pops up, look to the left hand side of the page. There you will see the best times to visit link. That may help you decide on when to go.

Second, also on the Disney World website, you can compare the resort prices. At the top of the Disney World website, you will see the Resort link and a drop down menu that says compare rates. There you will see the rates and you can also access the seasonal rates. This will also help you decide when to go.

Third, you need to really decide on a budget. Do you have a certain amount of money that you want to spend? After looking at the above information, you will be able to figure out a real budget.

If you'll post your approximate budget, how many people will be traveling, an approximate month you want to visit, how many days you plan on staying, I am sure that a lot of us disers would be glad to help you make a plan.

Welcome Amber :wave2: Try the Disney web site. Avoid spring breaks, Christmas tim. It use to be right after school start it was slow but I found Disney busy all the time :rotfl: but you will find sometimes better than others. Luck of the draw. ;)

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/events.htm

do you like flowers?

then the flower/garden festavial - starts in March and goes until May

if you are old enough - the food/wine festavial

starts the end of Sept and goes to middle of Nov.

the Halloween party and f/w is in Oct.

in end of Nov and Dec is the christmas stuff and MVMCP.

I like May and Dec - but this year going in Sept - free dinning

I really like the info on allears.net for planning.

One more thing to check out is the weather -- it can get really hot and humid in Orlando (I'm in CA and we have nothing like that here), and if you aren't used to the humidity it can make running around in it really hard. It really bothers some people, others not so much.
