I have two questions that maybe you all could answer...

a. Does anyone know of a site that provides complete instructions on how to clean a DSLR sensor....of dust?

b. Can anyone recommend a professional quality sharpening tool and saturation tool for photographs...that won't introduce artifacts into the picture?

Copperhill has articles on sensor cleaning, and the also sell the required products.

Fred Miranda has some low cost software for sharpening and other functions. I believe it works in conjunction with Photoshop.
Also check Actions Central for free Photoshop actions.

copperhillimages.com has a great tutorial as well as sells the product for wet sensor cleaning. He's very affordable compared to buying everything seperately.

Adobe Photoshop dominates the professional photo processing market. It has great tools for sharpening and increasing saturation.

Even with Photoshop, there is always a tradeoff between sharpening and introducing artifacts. No existing software can truly tell what is an edge that needs to be sharpened and what is just random junk. Always sharpen when looking at the picture in 100% magnification. Sharpen only the parts of the photo you want sharpened, not OOF areas.
