2 Questions about Contemporary!

Hi! We are staying at CR in Feb. Two questions:
1. Are the non-rennovated rooms in the the bold, bright colors as shown in the allearsnet pictures, or are they more neutral, beige-y like on the Disney planning DVD? I thought they were the bright (obnoxious) colors, but the DVD showed a totally different room for the CR (definitely not a rennovated room)

2. I requested North Wing, but now I am thinking about switching to a request for South, since the rooms will be rennovated by our trip. I originally liked North because I heard it was all non-smoking. Is their smoking in the South Wing (and if there is, would a non-smoker smell it from the other rooms?)

can't really answer the first question, except to say that when we stayed there a number of years ago, the rooms were the bright colors shown on the allearsnet site. But that was a while ago, and we only saw one room. As for smoking, the south wing is smoking or non smoking on each floor. So if you are on a non smoking floor, all of it is non smoking. I doubt that you would smell much from the other floors.
We have reservations for April at the contemporary and although we requested the north wing, closer to the MK, the confirmation letter does not specify that, and I am going to leave it that way. If the south wing is done, I would prefer a new room there and will hope for that.

I haven't seen the planning DVD, but I think the conceriege rooms (unrenovated) were more neutral colors. If I remember correctly, there were some pictures of those rooms on the AllEars site, too.
Can't help you with the other question.

I think I am going to do the same thing. Our ressie is for a wing room, I will request non-smoking and leave it at that. If we get North, I'll be happy to be closer to MK, and if we get South, I will be excited to be in a rennovated room.

The non-renovated Contemporary rooms are decorated in the bold colors; the newly renovated rooms are supposed to be in neutral tones.

There is an older room picture that has two queen beds in the tower, with solid color pillows on a bed that has an ivory colored comforter. This is the old style of the 14th floor, not the current style nor the renovated style.
