Does DVC offer any flexibility on the OTPs. I had a last-minute change to our plans and am trying to look at new reservation options. However, the points costs in March are higher than they were on November and I will be two pints shy of what I need (even using my 50% borrowing and buying 24 OTP. Is there a chance they would let me buy 2 extra points?

No, they are very strict on that...I asked to borrow an extra 4 today and that was a solid no. You could go to the rent trade board and see if anyone is willing to do a one time transfer of 2 points that they are not using. You would pay them for their points, similar to OTU points

Unfortunately there is no wiggle room on this. You either have to shorten the trip, rent a night in the same room type from another owner and have the reservations linked so you hopefully don’t change rooms, or see about a transfer so you can book with your own points.

However, because of the one transfer in or our per UY, most owners will only do larger amounts so knowing it’s only 2 points…or 26 if you didn’t buy OTU points and got them all via transfer…it’s going to be hard to find someone wanting to do it for such a small amount.

Agreed.

The reason /limit of 24 otu pts is at 25 you can purchase a new contract. This was to help the sales guides to continue selling small contracts.

I was allowed to overborrow a few points past the 50 percent mark several months ago when I called to book a trip (in lieu of purchasing some OTU points). They had to get supervisor approval to do it, but they did it. I didn’t even ask to do it, they offered. I had a resale contract so they had to do the whole “need to get approval to allow borrowing” thing which led to the offer to let me overborrow.

Wow...allowed to overborrow. That's significant isn't it, or is that more commonplace then I realized? Do you know if that's been going on for a while for other folks as well?

It is not common place since we have not had reports that I remember of anyone being allowed to do it.
