Last year we had 2 points left over from March 2002 use year so we banked them, planning to use them on our 2003 trip. Plans have changed and we were offered our uncle's house in Orlando for free for our August 2003 trip. Our plan is now to bank 2003's points for a GV stay with my family in August 2004. Now what happens to our lonely 2 points? Can you transfer banked points when they become available? I don't want to loose them. Does this mean that we should stay one night on site to use up those 2 points? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

At $10 -$12 per point that's maybe $20 - $24 worth of points. Dessert at a WDW restaraunt for your family would cost more than that, I wouldn't worry about it.

Have you checked out this web site?

You can list the points on there and give them to another DVC member who needs just a couple of points. It seems so much better than just losing them.

Since the 2 points are banked points, they cannot be transferred. Might be quite a hassle to give them away. The member would either have to use additional points to make a reservation for someone (the reservation could be given to someone else) or another member would have to transfer points to Jacksmom99 so that there were enough points to make a reservation for at least one night. Then the recipient of the reservation would have to get MS to link the ressies (unless all that was wanted was one night).

Might be less trouble to just let them expire. If that is just not an option, Jacksmom99 will have to decide if they want to schedule a trip to use those 2 banked points. Of course, they will have to use some of their current use years points to make that happen, and that would decrease the amount of points that could be banked for the August 2004 trip

Really not even that. 2-Points that can't be transferred anywhere and aren't enough to make a reservation aren't worth much. So actually out-of-pocket you're only losing your dues on them, less than 10 bucks!

Let em' go and don't worry about it.

CarolMN, I didn't realize that banked points couldn't be transferred. I'm new to DVC. I learn so much from these boards.

I've been around a while and I am still learning. Thanks for the link to the site. I hadn't come across it before and it's nice to see a place where members can help each other out like that.

Thanks for the replies.... I wish we could give them away without the hassle. Our Uncle, MIL, and SIL all own DVC, but since they're banked points, it's too much hassle. We'll probably just let them go:(
