2 One Way Trips ??

I am looking at booking airfare for our trip in October, Boston to MCO
Right now Delta has better rates than even Airtran, so I am thinking of doing it today.
My question is that I can apparently book the trip down and then the trip home (2 One Way trips) cheaper than booking the exact same flights as a single round trip. Does that make sense?
Is there any downside/danger of booking 2 One Way flights rather than 1 Round Trip Flight?

We always book one-ways with SW as it's easier to make changes if we need to.

If it's cheaper to do that way then by all means do so. Some carriers discount RTs but I think most are getting away from that.

That's what we are doing. I found an awesome rate to MCO on Delta now I'm just waiting on an awesome rate for a return flight. I'm not even worried about using the same airline, as long as it saves us $$$ for Disney!

Only advantages of round trips:

1. (All or none) You don't have to worry if the return flight if not IPO'd will be available and at what awesome price when you book the outgoing.

2. (Bargain) If round trips cost less (which they usually do).

Between this morning on line at Delta's web site and 3 PM the one way fares went up $103 each way. They ended up being more expensive than the round trip.
I just booked the round trip for $ 267 including tax. I think that is a good fare, and still showing less than even AirTran.
I am very excited.

I saw JB at $89 (fir Aug)going to MCO from NY & $134 coming home. I only purchased the $89 going to MCO one way. I'm waiting for lower airfare coming home even if that means taking a different carrier.

Now that one way tickets have become common, I don't think they single out one way tickets for extra security anymore. I travel with one way tickets a lot. 5 years ago you would always get extra quesions when using them, but I haven't seen any extra security in the past couple years.

I've done one ways on different carriers the last three times I visited WDW. I find that it not only saves me money, but in the case of the low cost carriers (like Sun Country) I am able to pick better travel times, like a later time for coming home. Although I think it has worked well, I have had one problem with AirTran cancelling my flight home (not a huge deal or a surprise with them, but I was able to book for VERY early the next morning instead), and I've experienced the extra security. At home in MSP the extra security really isn't a big deal at all. But, at MCO it can be a big hassle.

This May booking one ways would have saved me $30 and given me an extra two hours at Disney before leaving for MCO. I opted to go for the RT with NWA instead because I got the RT miles on my frequent flyer program, could use the ME check-in, and there is VERY little chance the either of my flights will be canceled or changed between now and then. NWA tends to stick to their schedule like glue, especially the flights in and out of MSP.
