2 nights too short for a cabin?

Quick question for those experienced with the Fort. I had planned a 3 day cabin stay in the middle of our vacation so that my kids could run around and see wildlife that they love geckos, armadillos?! etc... But, now I have to change it to 2 nights, is that worth it? The biggest hesitation I have is how spread out the resort is and we wouldn't rent a golf cart or bicycles or anything. I don't want to spend the 2 days we have getting on and off the buses just to move thru the resort. Is it walking friendly to get from the cabins to the main pool etc? Somehow having 3 days there seems more relaxed...

I just wrote a lengthy epistle on this which got lost in DisBoard Land, so now I will synopsize it.

The Fort is about one mile long and a half mile wide. The cabins are near the entrance (Check-in/Outpost). The main pool is in the middle (Meadows) and the Marina is at the back end (Settlement and Marina). There is another pool in the cabin area, usually referred to as the quiet pool because it is much less congested (and fewer amenities) than the main pool. There are trading posts at the Meadows and Settlement. There are three bus lines running in the Fort each of which runs every 10-20 minutes depending on time of day and crowd conditions. Busses are rarely even half full. There are many activites at the Fort, which you will receive a schdule of when you check in.

Golf carts are rented on a 24 hour basis at Check-in, but bikes must be turned in each evening at the Bike Barn (Meadows). It is definitely worth spending ANY time you can at the Fort. In fact, many people come just for the Fort and never visit the parks. Enjoy.
