Hi there,
I just had a question for all you DVC-ers out there. My mom has been a DVC member since '94. My husband and I are currently thinking about purchasing our own contract through DVC, but weren't sure if our plans are totally feasible. I would like to know if two members can use their points to create one reservation. For example, if my mom wanted to book March 1-5 in a 2 bedroom at OKW, and my husband and I wanted to book a (the same) 2 bedroom at OKW from March 5-10, is it possible to keep the same room for the entire reservation? Thanks everyone!

Member Services may be able to link the two reservations together so that you could stay at the same villa, you should contact them first to find out for sure since they may not be able to do that because you are different members. I have two memerships and they have linked my reservations togther, however both memberships have the same name, which is different from your situation. If they can't link the two togheter, once one party checks out you may not be able to get the same room. That would depend on how busy the resort is at the time of your stay. A guaranteed way make sure you have the same room is for one of you to transfer the req'd points to the other member, which would than allow you or them to make one reservation for the entire stay.

Good Luck

Transfer the points to one account and make the reservation.

I agree this is the easiest way!:thumbsup2

Or do what my friends & I do - alternate years. One year they make the reservation using their points and then I make the reservation the following year.

Actually, linking the ressies is easiest.

I agree. We have done it twice now and it is a seamless transaction. No worry about transfer restrictions or the possibility of issues arising if you end up canceling or making changes. As my son would say, its "easy peasy". :)

Love it! That's so cute! Thanks everyone for your help - I have transferred before from another member and it was fairly simple, but I think linking the ressies might be the best! I wasn't sure if this was "allowed" or not...so glad it is!! Thanks again everyone!

Just so you know my friend and I were going to do a transfer and MS informed us that you can only do one transfer in a year period.

So just make sure you don't have any other transfers planned or needed. :)

Even though the two reservations are being made by two separate memberships, you'll still have all the same names on each reservation. Linking them should not be a problem.

When you make a reservation, DVC requires the names of everyone who will be staying in the room.

Around here the kids add a bit to that...."easy peasy lemon squeezy"!

You only need one name to make a reservation. You can add as many names as you want when you check in.(within occupancy limilts) Been there. Done that.
