Well folk, it’s a double special day.

Firstly, I have officially been a non-lurking DIS member for a year now. And what a great year it has been! Very different being an active participant rather than just reading posts. I have met so many great people on here, had an enormous amount of encouragement and support, good advice, lots of chat and some good laughs too. I just wanted to say a big to all of you. This is more than just trip planning for me; you are my people!

Secondly, 480 days ago (no, that is not a typo), I looked at my countdown and thought AAARRRGH! How can I wait this long?! Well check out my ticker: It is my SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!!!! I know the tickers run on a different time zone but I have waited so long for this one so midnight is officially SDD day for me.

I would love some guests. Everyone is . After all, you have all been part of this for the last year!

I still can't believe it's actually real. I can feel that I am in that pre-trip yo-yo place, where I go through being really excited one moment, then a bit miserable the next. Fortunately I know that this happens so I will just ride it out. I am on edge a bit because this is the last little home run and I have to be very careful that Tove doesn't suspect anything. My big challenge is going to a brand new school and new head teacher this week and explaining that Tove is going to be out of school for a week but I don't want her to know about it. I didn't anticipate a school change at this stage of the game.

Good Luck with your DD's Head Teacher...I'm thinking I might just send my letter in the day before we go so their head teacher won't get much chance to respond before we go or maybe just post it so that he gets it on the morning we fly!

I know what you mean about it not seeming real... when you plan for something for so long, it just feels.... odd.... when it is actually about to happen.

But you and Tove will have THE MOST AMAZING time, I hope she loves her surprise, and remember to tell us all about it when you get back! (*** I'm obviously crap at writing TR's since I've not done mine yet, you've gotta hold up the Scottish end of the DIS... )
