2 family getaway in destin

Oh I love Destin!! I have an alone weekend trip planned for me and DH there in August!!

I would rent a house for a group of people.

Hi! if you are interested in finding more out, I live in Beaches of South Walton. In between Destin and Panama City Beach. We are quieter and nicer than Destin, IMO. Feel free to PM me, if you want any specific details about anything. Destin is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to stay there for my vacation.

There are quite a few people that are very reputable running specials that I know of.

We do it by the number of rooms. If it is a 5 bed house then the rent is split by 5. If family of 5 wants two rooms then they pay 2/5 of the rental. We then figure out a kid and adult food budget and everyone chips in for their share based on number. Alcohol is based on whatever you bring/buy on your own.

nice idea!! i thought of that - but then was not sure how the children situation would work out. But that does give everyone a choice!

i like the house idea too! it just seems festive and fun!!! that is what i am leaning towards.

Well if the family of 5 wants to all cram into one room, then you won't need as big of a house, just don't expect them to encroach on single guy space who paid his share for a single room. I have been the single many times and I finally started raising my hand when it wasn't equitable. If the large family wants a majority of the house, then they need to pay for it.

Not sure when you are planning to go but there is an airshow in Pensacola on July 8 and 9. i am trying to finfd a hotel for those two nights since I will be in Orlando for the 4th.

We are going down May 6 (Friday) and coming back May 09 (Monday). Some of us are thinking of staying a few extra days if staying the full week is a better cost option.

We may be in ORlando for the 4th too!!!! LOL. We are decided if we are going to disney this summer or not.

OMG - me too!! That was party why I wanted to get the disers opinions.

We rented a very large house in Destin once at Emerald Shores. It is right across the street from the beach and definitely in walking distance. We had our family (5), my sister-in-law's family (5), my in-laws (2) staying. We took the total price and divided it by 12 (total number of people) and then each family paid for the number of people in their family. That way your brother won't pay as much as a family of 5 would. This seemed to be in agreement with everyone. Emerald Shores is really nice and they have all sizes of houses for rent. I highly recommend it.

we really just want to sit at the beach / grill out and do NOTHING! so i am going to check out th Navarre area too. thanks!!!!

We live in Navarre. Just let us know when you are coming this way and we will leave the keys in the mailbox! You can stay at our house ( & watch our pets ) and we will go to WDW! Joking aside our beach is beautiful! If you want a little more of a quite beach pass up the main Navarre Beach parking lot and keep driving along the beach road ( heading towards Pensacola). There is a bunch of little parking lots along the beach road. It will not be as crowded as the main beach.
