For the first time in October we will be sharing a 2 bedroom at VWL with another family (my in-laws!). When we check in, will each family be able to give a credit card so we can each charge our purchases back to the room? Or would all of the charges go on one account which we would have to divvy up between us? We love the convenience of not having to carry cash, but I don't want it to get too confusing either.

You will only be able to put one credit card down on the room. So you can either divy up the charges on the last night and then go to guest services and make a charge to one of the credit cards for that amount and let the other amount just go through on the next day. You can also have only you charge back to the room and have your in-laws charge everything to their charge card.

I believe that even though one credit card holds the room, each person with charging privileges has a separate number on the bill, so it's not hard to keep track of who charged what and reconcile accounts among yourselves.

hi: yes, each person with charging privileges on their room card is assigned a different 2 digit number at the end (cards will read something like 12345-01, 12345-02, etc). i had 15 people charging to my credit card when my family was with us a couple years ago. it was extremely easy to figure out who owed what at the end of the trip. they just all wrote me checks on the plane ride home. have a wonderful trip!
