My family is going to Night of Joy on Thursday and Saturday. We were going to take another family with us (a mother and daughter) and have them stay in our timeshare, pick up the rental car, etc. They would be arriving on Friday and go to the Saturday Night of Joy. So the only cost to them would be the Night of Joy tickets and two dinners. The airfare they had already paid for. I paid for all of the Night of Joy tickets already because they often sell out. However, because they are so strapped for cash, they have decided that they can't go. So, I know the tickets state that they aren't refundable, but the mom has insisted that she pay me for the two tickets, even know I know that she doesn't have the money. Has anyone had to deal with a similar situation? If so, what did you do?

Thanks for any info,

Katherine

When I used to take my youth group every year to NOJ there were two instances when I had extra tickets. The first time Disney gave me a refund- proabably wouldn't happen now however. The other time we sold them to someone who was short tickets. Every time we have gone it has been sold out. There are usually people there looking to buy tickets. When I sold mine there was a CM there while I was doing it (we were at the will-call window). I asked if it was legal and he said as long as I was not making a profit off the sale and I was selling them for what I paid for them. The person buying our tickets actually got a good deal because I had bought them early and at the group rate and they were cheaper than they would have paid for them at the window.

So, if all else fails. try selling them when you get there.

there are tickets for this event posted on ebay which are going for close to face value. Might be another option, if you did a "buy it now" and demanded instant payment.
