Hi! I would like to know, if your vacation start in the Holiday Season, let say, December 31st, and that you are staying 7 nights, we know that value season is the next day, will we be charged the holiday rate for 1 night and the value rate for the rest of the 6 nights???? :confused3

Thanks!!!

You are charged the rate at for the day you check in for your entire reservation. To take advantage of the value season rates you would need to have 1 reservation for 1 night (paying the Holiday season rate) and then 1 reservation for the next 6 nights (paying the value season rate). Make sure you have the two reservations linked and they will try to keep you in the same room so you don't have to move.

Thank you Renee, thats what I tough, and thats what we did for our upcoming trip, I just wanted to make sure!! :goodvibes

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have as part of your plan going to a park or something on that first full day so that you'll be away from the hotel. With just one first night stay, you'll probably get to keep your room, but just to be safe, I'd assume you might be without a room for a few hours.

I sure hope I won't have to change rooms because with 3 kids we have a lot of bagages!!! :rotfl:

Maybe I should tell the CM at my first check-in on Dec 31st??

I would ask the reservation agent to not that you have two reservations when you book so they put a note in the system, and at check in mention it again to the CM at check in. I have done split reservations several times and only once did I have to switch rooms. Hopefully I have not just jinxed you!!! :teeth:

Manon, we did this last year and then again for this year.
Last year: booked 4 nights with a GREAT discount code and then decided to add one more night. For the extra night, I could not get the discount so had to have two different ressies. At check in I asked them to put me in a room where I wouldn't have to move rooms and they checked to make sure that the room was available for second ressie also. It was. No problem. Technically, you do have to check out and recheck in (just very minor paperwork at the front desk). The whole process takes about 5 minutes max.

This year: checking in Dec 31 at holiday rack rate. Then have a second ressie for Jan 1 - Jan 8 at value rate (with CAA discount). CRO has made sure that the ressies are linked (also called a continuing reservation). At check-in I will make sure I mention the second ressie to ensure that the room I am booked in is available for all of my nights.
