2 days in US/IOA Dec 5-10

Hi! Going to be in Orlando Dec 4-11, 2022 with my 2 kids 17 and 13, we are planning on going to US & IOA for 2 days with park hopper. thinking of going Tuesday - Thursday. Any days better for lines? Likely not worth it to get EP? Harry Potter is a big draw for both kids. Is early entry just for people staying at the resort hotels? I'd love to hear any suggestions for itineraries. Thank you!
