2 days at WDW worth it?

We were just in WDW for 7 days Thanksgiving week, and weren't planning on going back until Spring Break 2009. Today I get an email from my kids' gifted teacher. She is taking the jr. high gifted kids to Orlando spring break of this year (less than 2 months away!). They are taking a chartered bus on Sat, staying offsite, doing "disney" (they have no plans yet) on Sun and Mon, Space Center Tuesday, and driving home that night-arriving sometime Wed morning. The cost is $350 per person. Not enough jr. high kids could go, so she has 7 spots she needs to fill. She opened it up to the younger kids first.

I want to do this so bad-and I know my kids will if they find out about it. We love WDW. The price includes hotel, 2 day parkhoppers, admission to Kennedy, and transportation. Does this sound like a good deal, and will 2 days be worth it? I know ds10 would love the Space Center!

Whenever I think about doing short trips I do not think "is it worth it", instead I think "will I have fun". The answer is always yes!! Good price, go for it!!

I have two kids who do school trips. I have said yes to some Disney trips and no to others.

Yes that is a good price for bus, 3 nights hotel, park tickets and admission to Space Center.

What would come into play with my decision (and has in the past):
1) When was the last time they went and when will they go again.
2) Where exactly are they staying offsite, safety in area hotels is a big issue for me, especially with a bus load of kids.
We have high school coaches who will not even stay off property for the safety reasons.
3) How old are your kids ? I'm not sure by your post it sounds as if you are saying they are younger than Jr. High.
My kids would not be allowed to go if they were less than 8th grade.

What age are your children?? if this just for the kids or will you be going along?? How do you all feel about being on a bus for that long with that many middle school kids?.

I agreee that i would not allow a child any younger than 8th grade to go on a trip to WDW with a school group. Not sure I would be ok with even that age.


AS far as worth it... Even two days at WDW are better than none!!!! Price sounds ok too.

And I've already started emailing her some "tips." I love planning for WDW!

My only concern was dh being unhappy. He doesn't do Disney. I took the kids for the 1st time July 2006, and took his mother with us. It was my 1st trip, and I fell in love with it. So Thanksgiving week the kids and I went by ourselves. I emailed him, not to ask his permission, but to get his thoughts on it. He said he didn't understand why we wanted to go back but didn't care if we went. Since I couldn't tell his tone by the email, I told him we'd talk about it tonight.

OH that's a whole different animal than I thought I did not realize you were going as well.

If you think the cost is in your budget then I say go for it, you probably could not do it yourself for that amount with gas prices. and you would need an extra hotel night since you wouldn't have a "driver".
