We’re spending a week at the beach leading up to Christmas, with a couple days at WDW. I know it’s early to try to figure out our park plan, but what can I say…I’m excited.
We aren’t regular Disney goers. We took our 2 boys in 2012 for Halloween. Then to DL in 2016. Now back to WDW for Christmas.
So our boys will be 12 and 14 this time (sniff sniff). Star Wars and thrill rides will be a priority for them. Pretty Christmas lights will be a priority for me! :-D
Now, with only 2 days…what in the world should we do!? Right now we have 2 park hopper days. We’re thinking Mon (20) and Tues (21). I’m not completely opposed to getting a 1 day (1 park) pass for maybe Sunday (19) evening. I thought about getting tickets to the AH event, and spending 7p-1a at MK, then 2 days at other parks. But I’m afraid that by Dec 19/21, those tickets might be $200 a piece! Yikes.
Anyway, I FEEL like HS should be a full day park for us, based on the attractions there. And I FEEL like we should spend a few hrs at AK (we’ve never been there) in the morning, then hop over to MK from 2p-close. But then I wonder if we’re crazy for skipping EP at Christmas!? I just don’t know how excited our middle school aged boys would be about EP.
It’s really hard trying to plan a quick trip…during a crowded week. Especially without park hours/events posted yet. Not to mention the fact that everything is so different now with virtual queues and maybe fast passes…maybe not.

It depends what you like! I’d probably rather skip AK, but if the rides/lands there are high on your list than keep it and get a third day. The holidays are the best time of year at WDW so the more the merrier!:santa:

Honestly I would cut beach days and add a day or 2 more at Disney If you can. Not sure if they will decorate the deluxe resorts as they did before you will want to take time to see GF, WL, FW, AKL, BC, YC, and Boardwalk and Disney Springs for the Christmas Tree Trail plus visit all 4 parks at least once.

Well the whole reason for the vacation is going to the beach. We’re just throwing in a couple days of Disney, because I always wanted to see what MK looked like (in person) during Christmas. I think 2.5 days is about our theme park max.

If you decide to go to a park on the 19th, it will almost certainly be cheaper to upgrade your 2-day park hoppers to 3-day park hoppers than to buy a separate 1-day base ticket.

If your family loves thrill rides, then I would recommend keeping AK and skipping Epcot. Flight of Passage of passage is one of our favorites. It will be easy to hop to MK from there.

You’re right! A 3 day hopper is cheaper! Thanks for the tip.
