This trip was unlike our past trips when we normally stay 7 or 8 nights since we were there to visit family in FL. so only 1 night at the Dolphin and 2 days of parks this time. So only a small amount of places to report on but I hope you will like to hear about them.
After checking into the Dolphin and checking out our room that was READY we went to MK. I had planned on counter service (probably Pecos Bill's or Casey's) since I had p.s. for the Yachtsman Steakhouse that evening. DH knows that I enjoy Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch so at about 11:45 he suggested we see how long the wait was. I told him that there would be no way to get in w/o a ps. July, peak lunch time, no way! They said it would be a 15 minute wait. I was shocked. But even more so, when we sat in the foyer and were called in 5 minutes! We were seated in the Thomas Jefferson room and had a cm named Michael as our server. He was excellent! Very personable and attentive (but not intrusive). Dd 14 ordered the Tavern fried cheese which wasn't that great, and a salad that she enjoyed. The dressing choices were strawberry vinegarette or "roasted garlic buttermilk". DD only eats "Ranch" dressing (preferably the Hidden Valley mix I make myself - she swears the bottled variety isn't as good) so I had to convince her that she'd like the roasted garlic buttermilk. Michael asked for her order and when she specifies the garlic buttermilk dressing he said, "You like ranch huh?" " That's what it is." Had to lol. Our boys enjoyed their kids’ meals, both my husband and myself had the Pilgrim’s Feast which was very good. I asked about where the Sally Lunn rolls had gone and Michael replied that they only serve them as a special request and since I had asked that was a special request so he brought out a basket of them. Soo warm and yummy. He was great about refilling our drinks without having to ask. A very nice, cool, calm break from the MK, good food, and great service. We’ve been here before fpr lunch and will return.

Yachtsman Steakhouse - Had 6:30 p.s. No wait at all. Once again, had terrific service from our CM John. Love the rolls (especially the ones with onion) that they bring out with butter and garlic to spread. Can you tell I like my rolls with dinner? I could never do the Atkins diet. For an appetizer I chose what was technically listed as a “side item”, the sauteed mushrooms. There were a lot of them in one order and were delicious. DD, dear husband and I ordered prime rib with baked potatoes. Our sons ordered the
child’s portion of prime rib. All came out to perfection but the funny thing was that the boys’ child’s portion was seriously ALMOST as big as ours only for the BIG price difference. Dear husband and I both ordered a large cold draft, ok. 2 but we were on vacation, weren’t driving anywhere, and it’s a long story for the trip report section but I had fallen and broken my right arm the evening before we left to Florida but I refused to go to the hospital, convincing my family (and myself) that I just had torn ligaments. Little did I know that I'd return home, have to see the dr. who informed me I had fractured my humerous and shoulder bone was pointing in the wrong direction and that I had to have surgery for them to put in a titanium plate and NINE screws. Had I known that I might have ordered something stronger than beer while at WDW. Just kidding! I didn’t keep the receipts but I know the Yachtsman was fairly pricey but worth it IMO. The atmosphere was nice, the food was very good, and our service was really top notch. I’ve read mixed reviews and I had mixed feelings myself since we had dined here twice before, the first time loving it, the second time was disappointing, but this time it was a hit with us. If you go I highly recommend asking for John - he is great!

Beaches and Cream - A tradition for us. I have no idea how we got this lucky but we walked up for dinner at about 8 p.m. and got seated immediately. Service was good and the food was good as always. I want to try their Philly sandwich sometime but can’t seem to resist those burgers! The family in the next booth got the Kitchen Sink. It looked like a lot of fun until their dd (about 7) vomited and they made a quick exit. I felt so bad for her.

The rest was just snacking. Can someone tell me WHY popcorn at WDW tastes soooo good.? It’s Orville R.’s but my microwave Orville’s doesn’t taste like that! Lol. Next trip will be for a week so I’ll get to plan p.s.’s which I love to do. Thanks for reading!

Thanks for sharing. Hope your arm and shoulder are feeling better!

Thanks for the great reviews - they made me hungry. It's nice to read about good service too. Hope you are feeling better!

I have spoiled many an appetite on that popcorn! I get one bucket the first day I'm there to take back to the room and another on the last day to take home!
