We have 1 night booked at Universal on a Monday night so we can get the express pass for 2 days :)

We will get a taxi from OKW on the Monday morning and drop our bag at the hotel.

Just wondered how its best to do the 2 parks. Im thinking do Universal on the Monday then IOA on the Tuesday, I think we get in Harry Potter an hour early, is that right ? So would it be best to do that first thing on the Tuesday?

Will we get to do most things with a day for each park ?

Thanks

Hotel guests get in to WWOHP/IOA at 7.00am.
While there is no early entry for USF so gates open at 9.00am.

We did the same plan as you and did Universal on check-in day and then WWoHP on day 2 :)

You may struggle to do Rip Ride Rocket unless you are happy to queue as it does not have an Express line. However with the FOTL/room key we did Simpsons, Men in Black etc numerous times :)

I think you've got the right idea about leaving WWoHP till the morning to take advantage of the early entry. You can always hop between both parks other than that though.

Hi
We were planning on staying at OKW for 16 nights in Aug 2012 and buy express passes for Universal and IOA. Hadn't thought about checking into a Universal hotel to do this. Is it cost effective? Do you know which hotels you get the express passes with?
Many thanks

I think it is pretty cost effective when you consider you are getting 'disney deluxe' standard accommodation as well as express passes that are worth over 80 dollars each per day. You get the Express passes with all 3 of the Universal on-site hotels; Royal Pacific, Hard Rock Hotel and Portofino Bay. We'd be staying on-site at Universal too if the minimum check in age wasn't 21!

You could always hop to IOA for the last hour or so on the monday and see what you get done. WWOHP is best tackled early or late...

Same here except we choose to stay in bed and have breakfast rather than early ebtry to HP. The FOL passes means almosy no queues and that was in August !

You can get early entry to WWoHP on the check in day too - you can check in from 6am!

Give them your mobile number and they let you know when your room is ready. We went to IOA for early entry on our check in day - then skipped to US when WWoHP got busy, busy, busy then had a second early entry the next day and stayed doing the other attractions at IOA afterwards.

The free water taxis are THE way to travel! And you also get priority seating in most CityWalk restaurants.

Not the OP, but thank you for posting this as we too are going to stay overnight and do two days. I didn't know that you could do the early entry on both days. Bonus! :thumbsup2

Did you actually check in at 6am? Just wondering what time you woke up that day to get there??

We will be with friends at BLT next year and I want to convince them it is worth swapping to Royal Pacific for a night to get FOTL access - but the early wake up might put them off!!!;)

Hi - we checked in just before 6.30 at RPR - but it was about our third day out there so we were still waking up at silly-o-clock - we were staying in a villa at Emerald Island and woke 5.30ish, had a quick brekkie and headed off (packed a bag with a change of clothes/toiletries/swimstuff/waterproof bag for wet swimstuff the night before) - the roads - unsurprisingly - were dead quiet:rolleyes:. You don't have to do early entry both days - we just wanted to make the most of it - and it was well worth it!

what day of the week was it?

Hi - it was a Monday, in October.. the Monday was fairly quiet at the US park - you would not have needed express passes, but still nice to have! The Monday early entry at IOA was quiet, but when the park opened it got silly busy at WWoHP!
The Tuesday at IOA was a bit busier after early entry - especially WWoHP until about 4pm , but not anywhere near Disney levels.. made good use of the express entry - Simpsons was a kids fave, with express we did 5 times within an hour and 20min !!!!!! MIB was adults fave, kids liked it too..

The water taxis were fab - hotel to City walk in comfort, and the pool at RPR was open late enough to enjoy after dinner - swimming in a warm heated pool under the stars is fantastic.

The stay at RPR was a highlight of our trip - they gave us a high room facing the Hulkso we could see the park lit up at night too. And the staff and service were stunning!
