hello all,

we're heading back to WDW next month with our 2 kids, ages 2 and 5. DH and i already have our parkhopper tickets from a previous trip, so we don't need to get a MYW package (we will have to buy a ticket for 5-yr old).

is there some way for us to save on dining while we're there? i don't think the DDE card would be worth it as we'll only be there for 2 days. we will be staying onsite and plan to eat all our meals at MK or WL.

any suggestions are appreciated!

thanks!

The DDE is available to annual passholders and Fl residents and the dining plan is only available with a package. However, in general, two good ways to 'save' money in WDW is to split meals and to eat your "big" meal at lunchtime instead of dinner which is always more expensive.

GoodFairies gave you two very good pieces of advice - I agree! :)

If you are staying in a moderate or higher resort they have refridges and coffee makers (you could also bring a small toaster) bring breakfast items (cereal, milk, oatmeal, bananas, juice, etc..)

Trails End Buffet at Fort Wilderness campground is not a bad deal at 16.00ish for adults, then theres Cosmo Rays or Pesco Bills or even Casey's Hot dog at MK dinner.

Bring some individual bottled water from home, add either powder lemonade or ice tea and bring these to the park each day, will save you at least $2.00/person/day or juice boxes are also good for the kids at the parks.

These two little things could save you i would quess about $30.00/day. If you go to mousesavers.com then click on dinning - they have menus from all types of restraurants - may give you a better idea on how much each meal will cost.

Thanks for your speedy replies! I should clarify, I was wondering if there were any official Disney plans or vouchers or something we could purchase in advance to save money?

Thanks again!

Oh

disney has a dinning plan you can purchase, sorry do not know details on how it works but from all i've read you seem to get plenty of food choices.

there is also the disney Dinning Experience Card where you can save 20% off you total meal. but I don't thing too many of the MK restuarants honor this card.

If you already have tickets, then no, as the dining plan is part of a package where ticket purchase is required.
