Hi all,

Some friends are going to US/IOA next month and we have some confusion regarding the 2-day ticket options. If they buy the 2-day single park ticket, Can they visit a different park each day? Or does this option mean a single park for two days?

Also, What is your opinion about the meal deals, Are they worth it?

Thanks in advance,

Luis

You need to have an added park hopper or whatever they call it.

I personally do not like the meal deals. It's not that it isn't a good deal, it's that the CS restaurants on them suck. (Although I do like Monster Cafe)

At IOA, I either eat at Three Broomsticks (CS) or Mythos (TS). I cant stand the rest of them.

Bonniec,

Thanks for your answer. They wouldn't be doing any park hopping, although they would like to visit both parks, just on separate dates.

So the meal deals mean that you can only eat at some specific CS restaurants?

[added later] : BTW, love your sig photo!!

Thanks again,

Yeah, they are only for certain restaurants. It's very basic CS food. Burgers and such.

It's a good value for the money. But there is nothing special about them. For example, eating at Three Broomsticks at IOA is a Harry Potter restaurant and it's themed nicely. Mythos is an upscale TS but it's not expensive (think Outback pricing). Neither are on their plan.

There are also some cool places on CityWalk you might want to look into. Citywalk is in between the two parks and you have to walk through it to get there.

Universal has two different tickets for two parks....the base ticket and park to park. The base two day ticket only allows one park per day but the park to park ticket allows for hopping between the two for both days. The difference in price is only about $20.00 and if they decide to purchase the base ticket, they can upgrade at the parks to the park to park option.

The meal deal isn't generally worth it unless your friends like to eat a lot. There is no sharing on the meal deal and you only have three restaurant choices in each park. Food is basic theme park fare but some of the restaurants aren't the best at Universal...there are better places to eat that are not on the meal deal. This can be purchased at either park if they decide to do it. My recommendations are: Thunder Falls Terrace or Mythos at IOA and Louie's or Finnegan's at the Studios.

Thanks for your answer. So, just to confirm, if my friends just want to visit say, IOA on Tuesday and US on Thursday, the base 2-day "Single Park" ticket would be enough (instead of the "Park to Park Tickets") ?

Regarding meal deals, I agree with you and Bonniec about not being a good option and will pass your recommendation.

Thanks again,

Luis

Yes...you've got it. Base ticket is one park per day.
