OK, so Niece and new Nephew Honeymoon plan needs some critique if you don't mind.

They have never been to FL or any big theme parks.

At the beach the whole week but making a visit to US/IOA for one night.

Sept 10th one night at the HRH.

So they bought and printed a 2 day hopper.

1. Can/should they present that at checkin and get that attached to a FOTL room keys before heading to the parks?

I'm guessing mid morning-they are thrill seekers, not big Potter fans though.

2. What attractions do not allow FOTL room keys? I know FJ does not.

I suggested the head to IOA, use FOTL and knock out Hulk, Spid and Dragon Challeng. Peek at FJ wait time.

Then use FOTL and get wet on JP, DD, and Barges.

3. Can this be done by lunch?

Head back to HRH for lunch, relax and swim etc.

Head into US maybe 4PMish.

4. What would you recommend they do for US?

I assume MIB, ET, Mummy as FOTL, but what about RRocket, Transformers, Simpsons and is Terminator still there? What else?

Then maybe dinner at City Walk.

5. Any decent dining for that?

DAY 2

Try to get into IOA for FJ asap correct?

6. Do they need to check out first?

7. Do they need to rush in?

Then hit the stuff they enjoyed most as FOTL. DC/Hulk/Spid etc.

Eventually head back to US for RRocket etc?

8. Will they get RRocket in somewhere, and is it pretty good?

Any more suggestions appreciated. TIA.

Admission, room keys, and Express Pass are all separate cards.

I hop they know it's not actually front of the line? Unlimited Express Pass is close, but there will be others in front of them who also have the EP.

EP cannot be used on Forbidden Journey or Ollivander's wand shop show. Also cannot be used on Pteranodon Flyers but that is moot as adults cannot ride anyway unless they have a child meeting both max and min height requirements. EP can be used on everything else.

Early Entrance is only for Wizarding World.

Checking out isn't a big deal. You want to clear the room and leave stuff with bell services (or in the car if you believe in the goodness of humanity), and maybe make sure any room charges are correct but other than that checking out isn't something to stress over.

If they are riding FJ they might as well use Early Entrance for it.

RRR scares me but plenty of people like it. It's a new addition to Express Pass.

At some point they have to decide what THEY want to do. The UO website has info on the rides so I hope they get a chance to check that out. I remember that planning our honeymoon was a lovely stress reliever from the slog of planning the wedding. If we had known we would be into theme parks then it would have been even more fun!

Working out dining is hard when we don't know what they like to eat.

Thanks, yep they know there is a line.

Good to know about RRR is on FOTL, and I guess Transformers is as well.

They are considering a DP? Not sure that makes sense or not.

I would not get the Universal dining plan. I feel that most of the better restaurants have been left off (in Citywalk) or don't require such a plan. That's just me though.

There is a fabulous sticky thread above that has a lot of info about dining.

second bumbershoot's suggestion.

have them checkout the uo website and learn the areas of the park for what it has to offer.
www.universalorlando.com

Thanks all, will do.

9/10 and 9/11 predicted to be a 2 out of 10 crowd level! Doesnt get better than that all year. They'll have no crowds to worry about.

Super-thanks. FOTL while not necessary will still be nice I suppose here and there.

Just remember...it's called Express not FOTL at the parks.

Thanks.

Hey even with hoppers-do they really need to hop each day?

Or should they just do US the first day, then IOA the second day-since it appears to be plenty of time.

I guess I say hop-in case they really like the Hulk or something for example, and wished they had done that both days.

Saves some walking time in the regular lines but tell them to do the regular lines on the rides at least once to catch all the great theming! Again, should be pretty empty regular lines so def worth it.

Good advice, I remember some interesting ones.

Well they should be there today. Looks hot, hope its low crowds.

Hope they have a good time and will want to go back. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help on here. Have not spoken to them yet, but got this email. Def a great time so will see if we can get the rest of the fam down some day.

"Tuesday we went to Orlando, got there about 9:30 am and the hard rock had the room ready so we threw our stuff there and took a shuttle to IOA. Had no problems getting in right away and crowds weren't bad. We were able to get through everything we wanted by about 3:30 that day. Even got on forbidden journey twice. Spider-Man was great, did that a few times and same with the water rides like Jurassic park. Spent some time at the hard rock pool and ate at a place called Beach Club. Pretty good fish tacos there!

Wednesday we took the boat shuttle and we got into IOA early and did some Harry potter stuff again then we went to Universal. Despicable me was having trouble so we went on to the mummy which was great! The Simpson land was pretty cool too. Main ride there is krusty land which was very fun. Did the ET ride which Mike remembered from when he was there when he was little. Then went back to despicable me when it was running again. Shrek was ok, only did once. Transformers pretty great. By early afternoon we headed back to IOA and did the water rides again. Then we bought some souvenirs when we were done for the day and headed back to Daytona.

Definitely glad we had the express pass with the room keys - that's the way to do it. The park to park worked good too. "

They didn't do Men in Black???? Isn't that a honeymoon requisite????

I know, but I'm hoping she just didn't mention it. :rotfl:

Here is the room view they had to leave empty one night-cripes.

What a great picture. I can see leaving Universal for that!
