Opinions please :)

We are taking our 7 yr. old and 4 yr. old on a surprise trip to DL in a week. Our flight arrives around noon on the 15th (Sat.). We have already bought tickets to the Tuesday evening halloween party, but not the park-hopper tickets yet. I had thought of buying 2-day tickets and spending Sunday & Monday in the parks, and then going to the party that Tuesday at 3 pm.

But now I am wondering if I should get 3 day tickets and go into the park Saturday too. It might be a bit anti-climatic to take them and then make them wait a day to go to DL, kwim? I figured we could swim at the hotel and hit downtown disney Tuesday before the halloween party. But I don't know what else we could do on Saturday (most likely will not have a rental car). So do I splurge for the extra day on the tickets, or find something else to do the day we get in? If so, any suggestions as to what to do?

Thanks!

I vote for 2 day PHs, simply because you may find that you spend a lot of time at the pool and walking around Downtown Disney on Saturday. Plus, you'll need to unpack, maybe take a nap (depending on how far you're traveling). You can also wander through the Grand Californian and soak up the ambiance there. You'll need to save your energy for your 2 1/2 days in the parks!

You could also take the $150 you'd save on the tickets (assuming you buy direct) and go to a character meal for a little extra Disney.

Tough choice though -- it sucks being in that position!! :rolleyes1:rotfl2::rotfl2:

HOLD THE PRESSES! I read your OP wrong. You plan on hitting the pools and DTD on Tuesday before the Halloween Party, thus leaving Saturday fully open. I change my mind. Buy the 3 day PH but do your exploring on Saturday and use the 3rd day on Tuesday. Think of it as Extra Magic Hours on Tuesday! Woo Hoo!!

I would get the 3 day PH. Go on Saturday when the park stays open late. Go on Sunday for a long day with Magic Morning. Go on Monday for a short/ medium length day. Relax Tuesday, take time in DTD, go to the party at 3 to finish of the trip in a big way.

I also suggest the 3-day park hoppers. You'll be able to go to the parks right away, AND you'll receive a Magic Morning.

This!!! Plus if you don't go to the parks on Saturday, you'll only have one evening to catch Fantasmic! And Remember Dreams come true fireworks.

I vote for getting a 3 day Hopper and going on Saturday as well. If you arrive at noon that is 12 more hours until the Park closes. Even if you don't get into the park until 3pm that is still 9 hours until the park closes. That is a whole day with small children. We did this 3 weeks ago. We ended up at our hotel and ready to go to the park at about 4pm and had a nice evening. Lots of time.

You're arriving Saturday at noon? And staying through Tuesday night, so presumably you're leaving sometime on Wednesday?

I don't understand the question. The question should be, 4 day hoppers or 5? And the answer depends on when you're leaving on Wed. But you definitely need at least 4 - Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues.

So the rest of you DISers got this trick question wrong! :rotfl2:

We arrive around noon Saturday and leave Wednesday morning. I am planning on the kids having down time (pool, build-a-bear, DTD) Tuesday up until we go for the Halloween party at 3, so it would be a waste of a hopper ticket day (at least in our case). Sunday & Monday are def. park days for us, so just deciding if adding Saturday is worth the cost or if we should try to find something else to do that day. I would love to go to the beach that afternoon, but we won't have a car so that may end up being more hassle than it is worth.

And it is sounding like the consensus is to go Saturday too. :) The more I think about it, it would probably cost us just as much to entertain ourselves elsewhere that day and likely a lot less fun. And it would make it easier for us to hit all of the rides/shows/etc. that we want to hit too...can you tell that I am trying to convince myself to splurge for the extra day?! ;)

I wouldn't consider other wise. Try to watch WoC, F! and the Fireworks right away. I'd put the priority on Remember so thier is a gap before Halloween Screams.

Grab some Fast Passes and get a few rides with short lines in too to start off your vist.

Definatelya 3 day PH... The more magic the merrier, plus it's more cost effifient to by the 3 day vs. the 2 day & you get to see and do more.:thumbsup2
