What would you do?

We fly in to Los Angeles on Jan 13th and we fly out of Las Vegas on Jan 20th. We will be staying at the BW across from Disneyland from 1/13 to 1/17. Our plan now is to spend 2 days at the parks, and 2 days at the beach and/or shopping.

Would you stick to that plan and buy a 2 day park hopper, or buy a 3 or 4 day ticket one park per day, and spend partial days at the park? On the 13th and 14th the park is open until midnight. If we stick with the 2 day plan, we are staying away those two days, because the parks are supposed to be very crowded Martin Luther King weekend. If I buy 3 or 4 day tickets, we would go to the park in the evening after doing something else the rest of the day.

It depends on age ranges of your group and what you want to do. I've done with 2 adults and 2 dys is enough. I've gone with 3 adults, 10 y/o, 6 y/o and 1y/o where 5 days is not enough.

I would add another park day being that it will be MLK weekend and now any type of holiday/break is packed. The beach just doesn't catch my attention.

I would do at least three days since you've never been. I go all the time and could easily spend three days. Two would not be enough for me!

I'd go with a 4 day ticket. On the busy Saturday go to the parks first thing in the morning.
When the crowds arrive, move on to your beach and shopping plan for the trip.
For Sunday plan to be in the parks later in the afternoon-evening. The locals generally head for home around 8pm or so.
