Just back!! these are ranked in the order we ate at them. There are 2 of us, 29 and 30, and we were on the DxDP

1. Artist Point- we cancelled this ressie last year so I made a point of making it this year

He had: Venison Potstickers, Halibut, and the berry cobbler
I had: cheese plate, salmon, and the chocolate dessert

Highs: the potstickers were delicious, the cheese portions were huge, and the salmon was perfect

Lows: I have seen many pictures of that berry dessert and the one DH got had no berries on top and was tiny?????? SO SAD. Also, the halibut wasn't very exciting, but is halibut ever exciting?

Overall: Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared, service was great, our best dining experience of the trip

2. Yachtsman:
He had: the ceasar, the filet, and the cheese plate
I had: escargot, the strip with garlic butter, and the chocolate trio

Highs: chocolate trip was awesome, steaks were cooked as ordered
Lows: is everything cooked doused in liquor or wine at this place? I subbed the garlic butter on mine and then it was just soooo much butter.

Overall: A solid steakhouse, a lot like Morton's

3. Cali Grill
He had: a salad, the chicken, and a citrus cheesecake special
I had: a flatbread with manchego cheese and ham and lettuce, the snake in the grass roll, and the banana caramel dessert.

Highs: our view of Wishes, the crispy chicken is seriously awesome, the flatbread, banana dessert awesome

Lows: Lots of screaming kids literally running back and forth; Wishes was late that night so they were probably exhausted. Sushi was good but not unbelievable

Overall:a great meal, we'll be back!

4. Flying Fish
He had: calamari, potato wrapped snapper, and sorbet trio
I had: softshell crab special, scallops w/ risotto, and white chocolate peach mousse

Highs: the service was great. DH really liked his snapper
Lows: they stopped serving the regular white chocolate mousse THAT DAY I was so sad. Also, the scallops now come with a mushroom risotto that, to me, tasted exactly like the Le Cellier risotto and totally turned me off combined with the scallops

Overall: I don't think I'd eat here again unless DH really wanted to. The food to me was either too rich (the deep fried calamari and crab; the mushroom risotto) or not enough flavor (the snapper)

We liked them in this order: AP, CG, FF, YM

Awesome reviews!! We're doing the DxDP in June and trying a few restaurants you did as well! Cali Grill is our fave, we're having our anniversary dinner there. We're doing Artist Point for the first time together (I ate there in 2005 and loved it) and trying Yachtsman Steakhouse for the first time. Glad to hear it's a decent Steakhouse! Glad you had some delicious meals! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Great reviews. We loved Artist Point on our trip last fall. We will be trying Cali Grill this time around. I was planning to get a sitter for the kids but your comment of lots of kids surprised me. Maybe we'll just make it an early meal and take the kids with us.

Thanks for the review of Yachtsman, we will be dining there in a month.

Thanks for the reviews, we are dining in all these restaurants in September. We are doing all of the signatures except HBD. Glad to hear Artist Point is still up there with the best. We loved this last time. Looking forward to trying Yachtsman, Flying Fish and Narcoosees for the first time too. Hmmm, you are making me want the chicken at Calii Grill now yet I love the steak. I suppose that is why hubby is there:rotfl2:

There were lots of kids, take them if you don't want to leave them! There were fewer children at AP and I don't think I saw ANY at FF.

I think Yachtsman would have ranked higher if we weren't so overstuffed from the DxDP at that point. A huge steak just wasn't as appetizing as it usually is, ya know? It was very good though.

thanks for the reviews, we are eating at all of them except AP in Sept since we are on the Dxl Dining plan. We will have our DS12 and DD9 with us at all of them but i can guarantee that they will NOT be running around any of them screaming and yelling. ;) We eat out at nicer restaurants every month with our kids so they know how to wait patiently for dinner plus we bring items to entertain them until our meals come. They actually chose to eat at Calf. Grill, Yachtsmen's, Tutto and Le Cellier, everyone got to pick 2 places to eat.
