2 Contracts wait for membership # on 1st

We are in the process of buying 2 contracts SSR & BLT. Different use years June and Dec. We have already closed on SSR 1 week ago and are waiting for membership letter. Today we got the closing documents for the BLT contract. From what I have read if you already have a membership the process is faster as DVD does not have to enter your new membership information and just adds the new contract to your existing membership.

What would be your opinion, should we wait 1 or 2 weeks for the membership number to arrive and then send in the closing documents with the existing membership number or should we just send in the documents ASAP and merge the 2 later?

The process is faster by about a day. I don't see any reason to wait.

From what I have read, with two different use years, you will have two membership numbers.

This is what I understand as well. 2 different UYs cannot be "merged" into a single membership. You may have to wait for both membership accounts to be set up.

That is correct. You cannot have contracts with different UYs under the same membership. The BLT contract will be set up as a separate membership.

I bought two contracts (different home and UY) that closed about two weeks apart. The second contract appeared on my first contract's DVC member screen, then the points were loaded later that day. I didn't get my member letter for ten days after it appeared. My points were long spent before I actually got that letter.

They'll be different membership numbers, but, as long as they are deeded the same, they'll be accessible under a single logon. They will be managed separately under that logon.
