2 Contract booking questions

Hi Everyone,

Wondering if the experts can shed some light... I have 2 contracts BCV 100 points and VWL for 150.. I currently have 100 banked in BCV and 56 banked in VWL...

Well we want to book 11 months for BCV I was planning to book 11/22-11/26 (at 141 points) but am now thinking just to secure my "whole" vacation 11/22-12/3 (@357 points)...so my question is will they let me use my VWL points for a BCV ressie @ 11 months? Or will I have to split my stay and then change at 7 months even though I have ownership in both?

Boy, I hope I didn't make that too complicated?

At 11 months, your points may be used only at the Home Resort they represent (BCV points may be used only at BCV, VWL points may be used only at VWL).

At 7 months, your points may be used at any DVC resort for reservations.

Thanks Doc. That's what I was afraid of now I have to book random days to secure a ressie there or the most sought after like all weekends and hope to fill in the rest after.

while you can't book BCV before 7 months out with your VWL pts, you can use banked BCV pts, current (at the time of your stay) BCV pts or borrowed BCV pts to book BCV at 11 months out.

but if you really need to use up your banked VWL pts, booking a split stay at 11 months out is your only option...

For our September trip, I am going to have to wait until February (7 month mark) to make my reservation because we too own at 2 different resorts (SSR and BLT) and we want to stay in BLT but want to combine both resort's points to do so. We have 100 pt. contracts for both resorts and also have some banked points that have to be used next use year. I am just hoping we are going to be able to get what we want at the 7 month mark, BLT MK View Studio,....crossing my fingers.

i'd be surprised if you get a MK view at 7 months...i'd book at least part of the reservation now (sun-thurs) and try to pick up a weekend later, if needed.

alternatively, you could book it all with BLT pts now and IF there were availability at 7 months out, you could cancel a few nights and rebook with SSR pts (and that would free up some of your current BLT pts).

just some suggestions...

Thanks for the suggestion, and a great one too . I think that is exactly what I am going to do, because sadly we have yet to stay at BLT (been our home resort since we became members) and would love to have the view of MK from our balcony. Even if we stayed in that room type for a couple of days and then had to switch over to somewhere else, I would still be happy.
