2 Character Meals in one day?

I think I may have ADR myself into a hole. Since I got a late start on my ADRs I had to get what I could and now I need one more TS but I am not sure where to fit it in. We are going for 6 nights but the day we arrive our flight does not come in until 4:45 pm so I did not make an ADR for that day which left us with 1 TS credit on our DDP. Right now I have the following ressies:

Day 1: Hollywood & Vine Character Breakfast @ 11:05
Day 2: Primetime @ 2:00 pm
Day 3: Crystal Palace @ 4:40
Day 4: Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic @ 3:50
Day 5: Sci Fi @ 3:40

The day of our departure we are leaving early so we will not be dinning that day either. I would really like to add one more Character meal in there (either Princess storybook or Garden Grill) But with how I have my meals booked I am not sure where to fit it in at. I was thinking we could do the PSB for breakfast the same day as the CP but that kind of seams like a lot and if we are only having 3 character meals I would kind of like them spread throughout the trip. We were planning on having late breakfast/ early lunches and late lunches/ early dinners through out our trip. I just don't want to book 2 ADRs to close together where we will not be hungry when the second one rolls around. Also the only time it makes since for me to book the last character meal is on the days we already have a character meals booked (days 2 & 4) do you think that might be to much for dd (6), dd (4), dd (2) & dn (2) to handle in one day?

Have any of you ever booked 2 character meals in the same day?

This is our first trip to WDW and I don't want to overwhelm the girls while we are there.

TIA

Maybe you could get a ressie for later in the evening on the day you arrive, but it looks like you're traveling with a few small ones so that may be a little much on the first day.

You could do later in the evening at Epcot and try to go where you can get good seats to watch Illuminations. From the looks of your current ressies, I think I'd go for Day 1. For me it would all depend on the little ones.

We did Garden Grill, and I wasn't too impressed with it (the food). It was nice for the character interaction though.

You just don't want to wear yourself or the others out feeling like all you're doing is running. Remember you're there to have fun. ;)

I think the biggest problem with getting in another chararcter meal is that for each of these meals you are basically eating a very late or early meal. Making it hard to space things out. You can do two character meals in one day for sure. I have done it. However, when I have, its been an early breakfast followed by a late dinner. With maybe a snack in between. Buffets are always a sure way to eat a lot and to do two in one day, it takes some time between gigs! So in my opinion the best days for you to add another meal in are on days 1,2,3 or 5. Day 4 is a Fantasmic package, you can't do those late and make Fantastmic so you cannot tweak the time to make that happen. The other days, you will need to either make your current ADR earlier or later as the case may be to fit in that other meal. I cannot imagine having less than six hours between sit down meals, esp. buffet ones. Given the current times you have, I cannot recommend any day of doing two. So all you really need to do is adjust one ADR on one day to get a second meal in for that paricular day.

Also, you might want to rethink not doing a sitdown meal on arrival day. I know we are arriving at roughly the same time as you in October and I have scheuduled an 8:00 dinner at Chef Mickey's. Now my kids are 10 and 12 so that makes a difference. However, I have found we are always ready to get into the Disney mood, wound up from a long plane ride and having a fun character meal works for us on arrival day.

I assume you are doing the Disney Dinng Plan? I found that it was hard to get in all the eating, we barely used all of our cs credits since having a sit down meal each day was a lot and the cs meals are large too. And then of course there's the snack credits! So that is another reason I scheduled a dinner on arrival day, gives us that much more time to fit all the eating in.

Good luck, it will all come together for you!

I've got two suggestions:

1. a late supper at either Chef Mickey's or 1900 Park Faire on the evening you arrive. Assuming your flight is on time, a 7:15 or 7:30 should be fine. Since you are coming from TX, it won't really seem all that late to your girls.

2. an early PSB on the day you have H&V. This is a great breakfast - the princesses are wonderful and the food is very yummy and kid friendly.

Have a great trip!

How about Cape May Breakfast on Day 5? Try to get an earlier time. You look like you'll be at Disney Studios that day. Depending on when you plan to arrive at Disney Studios, you could arrive a bit earlier, take the boat over to the Beach Club and have breakfast.

Are you really going to Disney Studios for four of your five days? Could you get a Chef Mickey's for breakfast on the same day you're doing Crystal Palace?

Where are you staying?

I think these are great ideas, especially with all the little girls. 1900 Park Fare is a Cinderella meal for dinner, and the PSB breakfast early would be a lot of fun for them, too -- lots of princesses, lots of great photo ops princess: princess: princess:

Yes...we're doing it next Wednesday:
Breakfast at O'hanas with Lilo & Stitch
Dinner at 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella

I figure, the kids have to eat anyway...we might as well do it with the characters (character meals are their favorites!)

Thank you for all your replies. I have been thinking about making an ADR for the night of our arrival. For us I don't think it would be much of a problem but my mom, sister, BIL & niece are coming from Ca so they have to get up at 3am pacific time for their flight so I think they might be to tired. Although I think my girls will drive me nuts if I don't take them to a park at least for a little bit on the first day. I will have to see what I can do there.

We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. I didn't really realize how far apart the parks are so I am thinking of cancelling the Primetime ADR for another one. I mainly just booked the places I really wanted to check out figuring we could alway hop over for a couple of rides and a meal and than go check out somewhere else. We use to live in So Ca and have been to DL a zillion times so we really want to check out MGM, Epcot and those that are nothing like DL.

I am sure I will figure out something I just hope I can work out the ADR as it is getting pretty close now (May 28th). Wish me luck pixiedust:

Since you're staying at WL, how about Whispering Canyon for the arrival night ? Make it a late ADR, like 8.30, which should give you a couple hours to nap. Or you coud do Liberty Tree Tavern at MK, so you'd go to a park on your first night, and maybe see Wishes afterwards.

I really think you need to do more research into which parks you want to do on which days.

I really don't think you will want to be in MGM 4 out of 5 days. For kids you children's age, MK is the place to be.

Hopping is a great feature, BUT it is also sometimes a PITA with exhuasted little ones. It can also take a lot of time out of your day. The times of your ADRS make hopping difficult too. (Earlier morning ones would allow you to more time for fun and later dinner ones would allow you less rushing to your next meal)

All of your meals are in the parks. Some of WDW's best restaurants are in the resorts. Your location at WL is very convient to the Contemporary, Poly, and GF , all which have great dining options. Not to mention WL itself!

I see you have nothing booked at Epcot. That's an amazing park. You might want to switch the Playhouse Disney Breakfast for the Princess Breakfast in Norway, or the Sci-Fi lunch for Garden Grill.

I also agree that since your at WL already you might want to consider Whispering Canyon Cafe for your arrival night. The location can't be anymore convinient for you and its a lot of fun!

Well I cancelled Primetime and got Princess Storybook for 4:35 instead and I added Donalds Breakfastosaurus at 9:50 on the same day as CP. Hopefully that will work out well for us. I am thinking we will do half days at the parks anyway. So if we go to AK first thing in the morning than go to breakfast and hang out awhile after breakfast than go back to the room at about 1 or 2 we could rest for an hour or two and then head over to MK for CP and the rest of the night. That is the plan at least. :thumbsup2
