Hi everyone!!

I would looove a disneymoon, but also know after all the wedding stress I'll need a relaxing break too.

OH would like to go to the maldives for 3 weeks, but I'm hoping I can convince him otherwise by having a half luxury beach type break and half WDW.

Where in either FL or the carribbean are there great, secluded, romantic beach spots like the maldives etc?

And whats the best time of year for the carribbean?

Also, whats the most romantic WDW hotel? I kinda assumed GF but would love to hear all your thoughts. :)

Been looking at Sandals resorts.

The bahamian looks amazing!! :)

Okay - I apologize in advance - I'm a caribbean and caribbean cruising FREAK (it's accutally a bit embarrasing :sad2: ) - I go down there at least 5 times a year. So I'll give you my truncated 2 cents - but if you'd like to pick my brain - I'd be happy to help.

If you're looking for an all inclusive, The Grand Bahamian is really nice - don't know exactly what your price range is, but the Almond Bay Resorts are fabulous too - I highly recomend the one in Barbados or St. Lucia.

Also - doing a southern Caribbean cruise (usually leaving from San Juan) is quite relaxing and equally fabulous (personally, I prefer the southern cruise to a Western AI) and would definately give you that relaxing feeling (especially if you choose the right cruise line) but also give you some varity.

If you want to say in FL - Sanibel Island is quite romantic and relaxing.

Okay... I'll leave you alone now... sorry - I could go on for like 10 more pages! I'm such a geek :cutie:

Please go on! I'd love it!!

I've never been on a cruise..

I'm anticipating like £10k/($20) max honeymoon budget including WDW stay. But would like more than 2 weeks out of that - would it be enough for the resosrts you mentioned....?

I might go and have a look....

Thanks for your reply, its always the best way to find out about places from people who really have a passion for it. :)

Thanks - but now you've got me going... DF says he feels sorry for you :rotfl2:
Yes, they should be doable within your budget.

I think for a week at the Almond bay in Barbados is under $7000 usd- including flight from Orlando (if you'd drive to Miami you'd save $$ - AA has direct flights from Miami to Barbados) food, drinks and such. And I haven't been to the maldives (totally on my list though!! darn airfare!), but I believe you'd be happier with AB than Sandals - there's more of that "special" and secluded feeling.

When looking at the Caribbean, you have to ask yourself if you want to stay in your resort the whole time, or you want to do exploring. My prefered islands are Barbados, Curaco, Bonnaire, Aruba, and Antiguilla- Barbados has such pristine waters and lush landscapes :lovestruc

If you're open to a cruise (I know it's not for everyone) You could do a nicer cruise - Celebrity, Regent (alchohol incl), Princess - you could do have a suite for 11 days including flight from orlando for around the same. I'm partial to cruises, as I get bored easily sitting on the same beach - I need variety :rolleyes1 . Plus you get to see so much more. And I know that at least Celebrity is trying to entice UKers to come to the caribbean and you can get some great deals - even better than we can get.

I think that's what we're going to do for our honeymoon - get married at WDW and stay a week then go on an 11 day southern caribbean cruise - But now you have me thinking of Almond bay in Barbados  decisions, decisions.

HTH

Sanibel in Florida is amazing! So is many places down in the keys! I can help with that if you want!

Wow! Thanks for all the help everyone!! :)

I looove heariing about beautiful places to visit! And a honeymoon's even more exciting as its the one holiday my parents can pay for - i thought those days were over!! Hahaha!
