I am not sure how much time we will actually spend checking out Innoventions, but I do know that there are 2 interactive displays the boys will love (Sum of all Thrills and video game playground) so I am excited if we have time to walk in and check these 2 out!

I would love any experienced WDW traveler to tell me more about Innoventions and how to tour it. I am not finding a lot of information, but lots of cool pictures.

Friday's Trivia:
In this song from what line precedes: "The heron and the otter are my friends..."? And from what movie?

And we are all connected to each other
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends

From Pocahontas

When I took dance as a kid and teenager we did a dance to this song.

The rainstorm and the river are my brothers ... the Heron and the Otter are my friends!

I love Pocahontas. We don't have it for Lexa to watch :(

Totally didn't see it said precedes. Oh well.

Don't forget to look back, either!!!

With the before park ADR at CP, I am really hoping to get a few moments to take in main street without people pushing and coming at me from all directions. There is so much magic walking down that street (and a lot more hidden). To me this is the ultimate...PINCH ME I AM REALLY HEAR MOMENT...from the time I walk under the train bridge until I finally reach that castle on a hill at the end...then the world branches out in front of me. I grew up in a little town with a main street, and I miss it.

I want to make sure that I take a picture of Walt's Statue and Roy's Statue/Bench...along with their windows...along with taking the time to really enjoy the theming! If there is time I would love to take the trolley up main street.

Sunday's Movie Trivia:
What is the name of the circus in Dumbo?

Sunday's Movie Trivia:
What is the name of the circus in Dumbo?

WDP Circus, which stood for Walt Disney Productions

Nice job Thing1...2 points! We did this movie night last night at the cousin's house and had a lot of fun.

You are up early on Sunday morning. So am I, planned on going to mass, but decided to wait until tonight and go to the Teen Mass with Abigail after Goo's soccer game. I am trying to get Goo's Halloween costume done in time for his school's carnival contest on Saturday. So I have a full day of costume building ahead of me!

Islands of Adventure
Wizarding World of Harry Potter (WWofHP)
Part 1

Here is Harry Potter fans...either fans of the books, movies or in my family's case both! I am still amazed the JK Rowling even agreed to this venture with Universal, but I am so glad she did. My imagination and joy for her books and writing style comes to life as I walk through the archway between Lost Continent and WWofHP...or when I cross the bridge between Jurassic Park and WWofHP. It took 3 years to build and you can tell that JK really had complete control over the design of the area...because her written word is brought to life just as I had pictured it. From my first glimpse of the Hogwart's towers drawing me in from City Walk, I cannot even begin to explain the sheer awe that came over me on June 18, 2010...the day WWofHP "officially" opened to the public and I got to be there (although later in the day). Sorry, WDW but I have to say that USO/IOA have beat you hands down on park theming! I feel like I am in Hogsmeade and never did I imagine that I would step into Hogwart's castle. Where do I even begin? Let's start at that archway...

As you enter Hogsmeade from Lost Continent directly to the right is the Hogwart's Express and platform 9 1/2 complete with a young wizard's suitcase and owl ready to board. The train actually belches steam and boasts a conductor right out of the book. Go ahead and test him on his knowledge anything to do about the attraction and all Potter lore...just try to stump him! This is a MUST photo op spot for any fan!

DSC_5403.jpg

Next to the train platform you will come across a building make to look like the train station...but if you enter inside you will find lockers to store your belongings in for the upcoming ride....

Dragon Challenge

HPIM0665.jpg

Type: Twin Inverted Rollercoasters
Personal Rating: A-

The theming leading up to the Dragon challenge is enough to make you enter under the stone archway from which the Hogwart's Express emerges from the wall and conceals the steel roller coaster behind. You will want to walk the path leading to the Dragon Challenge. Above you in the trees you will find banners supporting the wizards as they proceed to the Triwizard Cup competitions...but Cedric fans will be disappointed because there is no banner for him). As you go deeper into the forest you will find the Weasley's flying Ford Anglia looking like it was left rather quickly by Ron and Harry in Argot's forest. I have to admit...I kept waiting for Argot to emerge from the trees. Soon you reach a small stone castle filled with the Triwizard cup, dragon eggs, and floating candles. Here you must make up your mind which Dragon you will challenge in the Triwizard cup..."Hungarian Horntail" (blue) or "Chinese Fireball" (red). As you contemplate your decision make sure you look up at the dragons battling above you on the ceiling. Either choice, you become part of the dragon on this inverted rollercoaster. The cars are dressed to look like dragons...which hang over your head and as you are seated you look like you are the hanging from the claws of the dragon. As you leave the loading station, one dragon goes left and the other right...only to meet again face to face in the ride (well, that was the plan...but the ride has had "issues" so the dragons are now timed NOT to meet in the middle). There are plenty of thrills, loops, twists, turns and drops for all coaster fans!

Tips:
* If you want to get a preview of the ride, look for the exit (to the left as you face the entrance)....a short ways up you will come to a viewing area!
*Front seat...always best for those thrill seekers. If you cannot score one of those seats, opt for an outside seat in each row for a better view (but really traveling at these speeds do you get any view).
*The Chinese Fireball track is more aggressive (few spins and moves faster)...best seat last row outside.
*If you want to ride again...use the "re-ride" door. If the wait is less than 15 minutes the ride attendants will open the door and let you get back on immediately!
*Usually the wait is not long, this was a refurbished attraction to fit the theming of WWofHP.

I can't believe I missed your post regarding Innoventions. I am looking forward to this too... much in part because it is one of those things that we have overlooked. Sum of all thrills... a must for us too. I just hope the line to do it isn't too long. Like you, I have found little information on things that go on inside Innoventions. We did let ds ride the segway in 2/2010... in 9/2010 we played with the Velcro exhibit (free souvenir there) but we missed the "make your own paper" exhibit. We have seen and played around with the video games a bit... but they didn't seem to hold my boys attention in 9/2010.

And as for WWOHP... thank you for sharing that. We won't be going and it was not there last time we went to US. It is nice to see what it has to offer. You are going to have a great time!!!

Yup! We have Sunday School at 9:15 and church at 10:30, so not much sleeping in for us! What is Goo being for Halloween?

I don't think I need to say more, than Dole Whip for everyone to get the point. I know that Ab is going to love this frozen treat...she is my pineapple lover. I have read that they are sometimes tinted green and red during the Christmas season...YIKES!

I am really excited to share WWofHP with my 2 fans. I was looking at the flight movie schedule, and it looks like we will have a good chance to see HP 7.2 on the flight out! :thumbsup2

Thanks! We were going to have a Disney movie night last night, but played Disney monopoly instead.
We have been playing Disney Scene it a lot!!!:)

What is Goo being for Halloween?

He is going to be a green pac man ghost being eaten by pac man. I have no idea how he came up with this idea! Actually it has turned out to be pretty simple, compared to the costumes I used to make for Boo (who won every contest from K-4th grade).
