2 Bedroom Low down on Views/Points

Thinking of using our points next summer for an Aulani visit from the East Coast. I reviewed the Thread on the Villas and Views and can not seem to get a grasp on whether or not the Ocean View is worth the points or most are going with fingers crossed on a high floor pool or island view. What usually becomes unavailable first?

We are going next January from the East coast and booked an ocean view. I figured Hawaii is too far from home to cross my fingers for a view.

This link says "it's no surprise that the less points units are the hardest to get. However, you can get more expensive categories pretty much any time of year." So the cheapest rooms go first according to this.
