Can anyone explain the difference between these two rooms? Also what are everyone's preferences on Kidani or Jambo? Thanks for the help!

Jambo House is the original Animal Kingdom Lodge Hotel. DVC took over most of the 5th floor and all of the 6th (Concierge Level) and converted those hotel rooms into DVC Villas. Kidani Village was built as DVC from the ground up.

All 2-bedroom Villas in Jambo House are lock-offs which is a Studio and a 1-Bedroom with an interior connecting door. The Studio has a queen bed and a sleeper sofa. The JH 2-bedrooms have 2 bathrooms (1 in the studio and 1 in the 1-bedroom).

At Kidani Village, there are 2-bedroom lock-offs as well as dedicated 2-bedroom villas. The dedicated 2-bedroom will have 2 queen beds in the second bedroom. A dedicated 2-bedroom will have one door out of the villa, while a lock-off has 2. The KV 2-bedrooms are approx. 100 sq feet larger than the same view categories in JH.

Also what are everyone's preferences on Kidani or Jambo?

jambo has a nicer lobby and a quick service dining option (mara).

kidani has rooms available on lower floors (all DVC as stated above) and is the first stop for the park buses.

Kidani is a short walk to Jambo. Takes maybe ten minutes. So don't keep the idea that the Mara is in JH keep you from booking KV. You can get food from the pool bar at KV as well.

The master bathroom at KV is wonderful. Very large and just a place you want to be. :) There is a separate shower and jetted tub. JH only has a combination jetted tub/shower - no separate shower because they renovated the hotel rooms.

But both places can be a long walk from the parking lot to your villa. At KV you can park under the building. At JH, you park in the parking lot out front.

You can take any bus but Downtown from Kidani to Jambo. Take the Downtown bus from Jambo back to Kidani. The walk is not very long though.

Rarely do I disagree with Deb & Bill but not having a quick service at Kidani is the major con to this location to us. If you get a room on the far side of Kidani away from Jambo, it's much longer than a 10 minute walk. I so wish they would add quick service there.

And the 2-bedrooms at Kidani have 3 bathrooms.
This is the bonus that makes Kidani tops when we travel as 8-9. With (3)18 year olds and a 14 plus us old folks, we need that 3rd bathroom or we'd never be able to leave the resort before noon everyday! Kidani villas are really well laid out. And personally, a food court has no attraction for us, we have breakfast in the villa daily, sometimes lunch, combined with the parks, the pool bar and signature ADR's, it's how we timeshare. And another bonus, covered parking, long, hot and wet summers in Fla, this I like very much. Walking the hallways, you get that at BLT BWV too, it's not a big deal. I do wish they were all like OKW, park in front but we go with the flow and look for the charms of each resort and never focus on the cons.
