2 bedroom condo near Universal?

We are taking a quick trip down to Orlando in August. We are looking at around Aug. 11-17th.

We have always stayed South of Disney and have never taken a Universal only vacation.

I may end up staying at the Marriott Residence Inn, but thought I would at least check and see what else is out there.

Thanks,

Dawn

Bluegreen The Fountains is just south of Universal on I drive. Very nice resort. I am staying there in January.

There is a small condo about 5 minutes to Universal that I have stayed at 3 times now. All units have 2 bedroom and 2 full baths with a pullout sofa and full kitchen. There is also a nice pool area with hot tub. It is also Bluegreen resorts as a previous poster mentioned but this one is called Sunshine and it's closer to Universal.

Wyndham's Orlando International Resort Club is also very close. It is a small resort, with simple amenities, but the rooms are well-kept. I have not personally stayed there, but my wife and kids have and enjoyed the location.

The area of Orlando near Seaworld and Universal has limited off site rental accommodation. Only resort community up that way isVista Cay. It has condos.

Orlando's Sunshine Resort is the other side of I-4 from Universal. It's a small resort without a lot of bells and whistles, but we like it pretty well. It just has one pool with no slide or anything, but when we've gone offseason that's been more than sufficient. There's also a basketball/tennis court, a nice big hot tub with a waterfall, and minor afternoon events everyday. Even though it's only a block from International Drive, when we've been there it's been nice and quiet. It's a Bluegreen resort, but the clientele definitely skews older than at the Fountains.

Orlando International Resort Club is next door to the Sunshine; haven't stayed there but it's a slightly larger resort with the same location benefits. Although the units there along International Drive might have some traffic noise I suppose.

Thanks guys. I am taking a look at all options.

Is there a Residence Inn close to Universal?

Thanks. I guess they have a convention going on.....there are no 2 bedrooms available. The Seaworld has them, but they are $200/night plus tax.

I think we may just have to stay further out. If we stay closer to Disney we can get a much better deal. Oh well.

Cypress Palms is off 192 but it is an easy commute on either 4 or 535 (which I prefer). Takes 15-20 minutes to get to Universal... Also, Hilton Parc Soliel and Westgate Lakes aren't too far away. Like others have posted, I think Vista Cay is the closest.

Thanks. I will take a look. I have stayed at Cypress Palms and Westgate Lakes in the past. (Westgate was actually a horrible experience.)

Isn't there a Westgate up north of Universal a bit? Seems I remember seeing one.

I don't think so. I don't love Westgate properties in general. I think the one on Turkey Lake is the furthest north.
