What 2-bedroom villas are toughest to book in June? Planning a trip and considering what my chances are at each resort. BCV has to be a tough one. What about Riviera?

Largely usual suspects: BWV Standard and Boardwalk Views, which are all lock-offs, Jambo Club and Value, Aulani. HHI can be difficult all summer. VGC is never easy ever.

You appear to be a DVC member who owns at BCV. As you have likely already discovered there, 2BRs, including dedicated 2BRs, can often be difficult if you wait until the 7 month window. If you want to be assured of having a 2BR in June then you should reserve BCV now, and then try to switch to another resort at 7 months out if you want a different resort.

At 7 months out for June:

SSR and OKW 2BRs are highly likely to be open

Riviera preferred view 2BRs (at least dedicated) have a high chance of being open but standard view is more iffy.

At BWV all 2BRs are lock-offs so the 2BRs can disappear via studio reservations. Standard view 2BRs will likely be impossible, boardwalk view very difficult, and pool/garden view is somewhat less than a 50% chance. (BWV pool/garden view 2BRs used to be easy to get in June but several years ago DVD decided to put an end to that by adding a Murphy bed to the studios so they could be reserved for five rather than the previous four, with the result that studio demand has significantly incresed).

At BRV dedicated 2BRs have a good chance of being open, lock-offs are somewhat less than 50/50 (those also used to be easy to get in June but DVD added the Murphy bed there also).

At CCV dedicated 2BRs have a decent chance of being open while lock-offs have a very low chance.

At AKV Jambo, where all 2BRs are lock-offs and thus can disappear via studio reservations, club level and value have virtually no chance of being open, standard view a 40% chance, and savanna view a 70% chance. At Kidani dedicated savanna view 2BRs are highly likely to be open, good chance also for a lock-off, standard view dedicated are also likely to be open but lock-offs somewhat less of a chance.

VGF dedicated 2BRs have good chance of being open but lock-offs a low chance.

At BLT, standard view 2BRs will likely be gone (dedicated standard view view 2BRs can actually fill faster during the 11 month window than standard view studios), decent chance for dedicated theme park view but lower chance for lock-off, and high chance for dedicated lake view and better than 60% for lock-off lake view.

And if you have a huge amount of points that you need to use, the 2BR Poly bungalows and CCV cabins are highly likely to be open.

I can tell you from experience BC 2-bedrooms are very tough to get for June at 7 months. It didn't used to be years back, but probably the past seven years it's been tough. The past several times I tried I could only waitlist. The longer your trip, the less likely you are to get the waitlist, so even if you do get lucky it's not for as long you'd like.

People got wise over the years, BC is premium because all it has to offer and it's proximity to so many things. Everyone is walking reservations which makes it tough to get the first day of your reservation at the seven month mark. Even when I get on right at 8am Est the first day of the reservation is never available, meaning you can't book any of it.

I am dropping a AKL value 2 bedroom june 18 to 25. Someone is going to be happy

I've tracked DVC villa availability over the last 4+ years. Pick the resort and the time of year and you can see which rooms are generally available.

Although not June specific, this post ranks the toughest 2 Bedrooms to book. Lock-offs fill up faster than dedicated 2 Bedroom units because the studios that make up the lock-off unit are the most in-demand DVC accommodations.

^^^ that is a very nice resource and fantastic visual chart of availability.

I am not sure how accurate that is. I have noticed every year the Two bedrooms become harder and harder to book. We usually book a two bedroom and for a few years, two beds were available in the 7 month window. I am noticing that two bed units (at least at BCV and BWV) seem to be booked pretty solid in the t month window.

In looking at the availability tables across years, BWV 2 bedroom Standard views and Boardwalk views are trending harder to get at 7 months over the last 2 years than prior years.

I don't see a noticeable change in BCV 2 bedrooms (Lockoff & Dedicated). The lockoffs have always been impossible to get in the Fall across all years covered by the tables.

For the next table update, I hope to show year to year impacts. This will give an idea which villa’s are becoming harder to get.

That is a lot of work- thank you for taking this on -It is a major undertaking. I think or wonder if Covid has changed or shifted room preferences. We had considered selling our BCV points because the 2 beds were always available in the 7 month window, while studios were solidly booked. Since covid, I have noticed a change in these booking categories. Maybe its just excess points from covid, or the result of the high point floods of bungalows and cabins into the dvc system, causing people to look for other room categories.

Thank you! There's definitely been a tightening of availability caused by the reasons you mentioned. It will be interesting to see if the point charts changes over the last few years (moving points required from Summer to Fall) will cause any relief to Fall availability.

BWV 2br availability is directly related to demand for studios, since all BWV 2br are lock offs. Once the studios book up, the 2br are gone, and there’s quite a demand for standard view (low points cost) and BW view (best view, IMHO!).

Studio demand doesn’t impact BCV 2br quite as much since there are dedicated 2br, but of course it would impact availability of 2br lock offs there.

As you say, it will be interesting to follow changes related to points reallocation.

We still find 2BR’s pretty freely available most of the year. We just switched a 5-night stay in early July from BRV to BCV, and looking at availability, 8 resorts had full availability most of June and all of July after the 4th at 7 months.

Now, the holidays are a different story, but that can be said for all room categories.
