Hi, I booked a 2 Bedroom at WLV today and the CM told me I would be on the first floor and possibly have a handicapped room?? Is the first floor the only floor that you can have a 2 bedroom on?? She also said it would be a lock-off. Thanks for any help with why I was told this. :confused3 Joan

Did you book it through Disney reservations or through DVC? How soon is the trip? I can't imagine DVC being able to tell you this information. Reservations and room assignments are done separately (at least I thought).

Hi, I booked thru DVC(with points) and it is for July(in case my WaitList for BCV does not come thru).I have only stayed in the WLV one time,it was a 1 bedroom and it was an upgrade from a "NO rooms left at the lodge". I just wondered if the layout of WLV puts ALL 2 bedrooms(as lock-offs) and on the first floor?? And yes it seemed VERY strange that she could tell me this info today for July! :confused3 Joan

She can't tell you that. The 2BR's are spread throughout the resort, not just on the 1st floor. I stayed in one on the top floor and on the third floor in the past. Whoever it was that you spoke to today had to be mistaken or you had to misunderstand him/her.

It's true though that you may get a handicapped room. You can request not getting one but you may anyway.

Weird. I looked at this map http://members.aol.com/InstImpres/wildernessmap.pdf and it looks like there are 2 bedrooms on all the floors... did you request a lockoff or could she have gotten the impression you wanted one? It looks like the vast majority of the lockoff 2 bedrooms are on the first floor. I can see her saying at that point that you might have a HC room because they are likely located on the first floor as well. To the best of my knowledge they don't specifically block off room #'s unless you are booking through Special Services and even then it's not really completely a for sure thing. If I were you I'd probably call back tomorrow just for curiosity's sake, you'll likely get a completely different CM and can get the lowdown on your ressie from someone else.

Thanks Christine! She did say that all the dedicated 2 bedrooms were taken,so maybe with the majority of 2 Bedroom lock-offs on the 1st floor this is what it looked like I would get. I will call back to see if I can request an upper floor, I DO NOT like 1st floor rooms(it is just a THING with me!!) I also wonder if I can waitlist for a DEDICATED 2 bedroom?? Joan

I know what you mean! I hate first floor rooms too. I'm actually really glad you posted your question because it made me look closely at that map and now I'm in a quandry as to whether I should make a request re: lockoff or not. My MIL and FIL really want a lockoff so that they can have a sofa and bed in their side instead of two beds (I think that the dedicateds have two beds in the studio portion, am I right about that?) but I know that they and definitely I would prefer an upper floor. It looks like if we were to request (and actually get) a dedicated then we would be on an upper floor... so which is more important to us... or do we just go with luck of the draw and take what we get? I know that you don't always get requests anyway so it might be a moot point but I'm one of those "you might as well ask" folks so now I just don't know what to do. LOL :crazy2: Right now our ressie doesn't specify any requests other than non smoking.
