2 bedroom 2 bath suite

I am looking for suggestions for a 2 bedroom/ 2 bath suite in the Disneyland vicinity. There will be 6 people ( 3 adults and 3 kids).

We have stayed at Desert Inn and Suites. It is right across the street and if you book a few months in advance, rates are excellent. We paid $100 night for suite with 2Qs and bath in each room, plus a little "parlor" but it wasn't much of a sitting area.

Technically yes. But it was cold cereal, bread for toast, some danishes, and apples or oranges that didnt look so great. We had cereal so we got milk and juice from the hotel. Denny's is right next door so DH ordered a breakfast each day.

Residence Inn Maingate is a 10-15minute walk from Disneyland. We stayed in one of their 'Penthouse Suite Bi-level Loft ' which is a bit more expensive than the above option, it was around $239 a night, but it provided the space that a larger family needs.
The bottom of the loft has a small kitchen area, a tv/couch (which can be made to a sofa bed) area and two queen beds which are seperated from the lounge/kitchen by glass doors. There is also a shower/bath and toilet area below. The loft contains a king bed with it's own bathroom/shower/toilet.

There is a pretty good breakfast provided for free, which includes bagels, toast, fruit, waffles, cereals, hot breakfast meats and juice, coffee and tea.

If you don't mind driving or taking ART, the Residence Inn Garden Grove has 2 bedroom suites. We did a kids suite there a few years back and it was fantastic. And a full hot breakfast included. We usually stuffed ourselves silly at breakfast, snacked, and the had dinner (skipping lunch for the most part).

Last year we stayed at Embassy Suites SOUTH - and this year we plan on staying at Embassy Suites NORTH (the only difference is that NORTH has an indoor pool and SOUTH has an outdoor pool - we want the indoor as we will be there in October).

They have a bedroom that is separate from the living room (comfy pull out bed) and in the bedroom you can have 2 queen beds. The bathroom and fridge/bar sink/coffee are in the middle.

They include a FULL breakfast - and I mean FULL!! Omelets made to order, bacon, sausage, etc etc, tons of choices and even the standby cereal and donuts. It's a big thing!!
They also offer an evening "managers reception" that offers light snacks (usually popcorn, cookies, other little bits) and free drinks (juice, pop) and free booze! Seriously, free booze!
Now, I'm not a drinker, but I am totally impressed by that!


They run around $150 per night at both locations. I think pretty reasonable considering our family of 4 (plus baby) would cost us a good chunk of change in breakfast at a restaurant or the park.

I don't know if the room style would suit your needs, but you can definitely fit 6 people easy into their rooms

I have 2 other nice options the Homewood suites and Staybridge Suites

The Homewood Suites which is located on Harbor. They offer rooms similar to the Residence Inn with 2 queens in the bedroom , sofa bed and kitchen area in the Living room area. They offer a full breakfast in the morning, with waffles, breakfast meat, yougurt, fruits, oatmeal, cold cereal, juices, bagels, toast and always an additional hot item (eggs, french toast. etc). They offer an evening reception Sunday-Thurs with menu changing nightly, some nights burgers, hot dogs, nachos...free soda, juice and alcohol (beer and wine).

The Staybridge Suites located on Manchester. The offer similar breakfast and evening options. They have a variety of rooms, we like the 1 bedroom with 2 queens and sofa bed with kitchen or the 2 bedroom suite which is a larger layout. You enter into the main living /kitchen area with a sofa sleeper and tv, the one bedroom has king , full bathroom and closet and the other has 2 queens, full bathroom and closet...this one has a total of 3 tvs!

I would highly suggest the Residence Inn Maingate as well. We are booked for the penthouse in July for 3 adults and 3 children. We have stayed there the past few times we've visited DLR and we were never disappointed. The full kitchen with full size fridge is a HUGE plus for us and the free breakfast has a ton of variety. We love having two full bathrooms and the beds are very comfortable for us.

We also like RI Maingate. We have stayed with 2 adults and 4 kids. Can't say enough. We find it an easy walk to the parks or you can take ART.

Wow! Thanks for all your replies. Looks like we have a few great options to choose from.

We typically travel with 3 adults (me, dh, and my mom) and 2 kids. We have stayed twice at the Homewood Suites and once at the RI Garden Grove. The HS is newly updated and I think they now offer a private shuttle to the parks for a fee. The beds were all very comfortable with nice new sofabeds and lcd/plasma tvs in the rooms. They also offer a free nice breakfast (not just continental) and a managers meal with beer & wine on certain nights. The description of their 2BR suite is: Spacious Two-Bedroom (1 Queen/1 Queen) Non-Smoking Suite, 800 sq. ft. suite, features two bedrooms, each with one queen-size bed & bathroom per room. Separate living room with sofa sleeper, two televisions, two baths, fully equipped kitchen with full-size refrigerator, complimentary high-speed internet access in room. However, they are NOT in walking distance so you would have to drive/park, use ART, or pay for their shuttle (if still offered). We loved this hotel and you can even see the fireworks if you ask for a high floor disney facing. They do charge for parking, $12, which is high in my mind but we were able to get it waived because our stay was 6+ nights. Not sure if they still do that for long stays.

The RI Garden Grove was our most recent stay and you can see my review and description of it in my TR link below in my siggie. It was older and the sofabed was not nice like the HS. Also, they have regular tube tvs not upgraded lcd/plasma like HS. They also had a nice deluxe breakfast and a free meal some nights but no beer & wine. We used their shopping service which was great and a real nice feature. Again, NOT walking distance must drive/park or use ART, no private shuttle that I know of. However, they have kids' suites which is why we stayed there.

The RI Maingate was on our list but I didn't feel that we would be up to walking the distance after reading reports of what the distance actually was. I am sure it would be no problem for a day or two but we were there for 5 days...

Another close option is the Park Vue Inn. It is right across the street and I think people have chosen to get connecting rooms there; in addition they have two different 2 BR suites but each only have 1 BTHR. Again, just based on reviews it is older in appearance but has a great free breakfast, a light nightly meal, and it is right across the street. I'm not sure about the parking, if they charge or not.

So, there are many other hotels right across the street and perhaps you would be interested in connecting rooms not just 2BR/2BT suites so you can avoid having to drive or use ART and can instead walk. Wow, that is a great rate. What time of the year did you stay there? I was looking at July and it is twice that.

November last year and September this year. We booked 4 months in advance last year, and rate was double by the time we got there (but we were locked in at good rate of course). Two weeks ago we booked for this Sept and got $99 again.

hyatt orange county. free transportation to parks also. stayed there last year it was great.
