2-3 hours to kill on last day at Contemporary Resort

My flight isn't until 5:30pm. That means leaving 3 hours prior (2:30pm). Any ideas what to do to kill time until then? I have Chef Mickey's breakfast at 10:10 AM. With a late buffet breakfast and 2 hours with nothing to do at the airport, we can get a late lunch/early dinner there.

My newbies are flying out the same time, I'm staying another week, so we are going to check out the monorail resorts, then eat lunch at Kona. We are staying at WL.

Ride the monorail and check out the other resorts and their gift shops! Or just ride the monorail :)

How many days of park tickets do you have? I would just add a day and go to MK.

I do have an extra day of park ticket since it was so cheap. I have it as a contingency for my "off" day and this last day. I think we're going to have our fill of the parks by then. I have dining reservations at the Poly and GF, so we'll be visiting them during the week. I've never been on the boats that go from the Poly and GF to the MK. I don't know if that's worth it to ride.

In our opinion, definitely! We love the boats.

We usually have a 3:00 DME pick up. So we go for a special leaving day breakfast, then nip into closest park for a couple of hours.
If you don't want to add on a day to your tickets, you can resort hop on the monorail. Walk over to MK and hop on the boat to Poly, walk around the resort, enjoy lobby, gift shops, grounds, get a Dole Whip! Then walk along the lake to GF to explore. Love their gift shops and beautiful resort grounds. Sitting in the lobby is a treat in itself.
Get monorail back to CR.

Or take the boat at the CR marina to Ft Wilderness and explore their shops, I love walking around the Circle D ranch just a little way past HoopDeDoo buildings. You can take walking path or boat to Wilderness Lodge, then take the boat back to CR.

I agree with the PP's who suggest going over to Ft. W. The gift shop is cute and you can explore the stables where they house all of the WDW horses and ponies.

Last July we went to MK with a PPO at BOG on our departure day and used our FPs there then had a late lunch at the Wave before MDE. Our flight was delayed but because we were using MDE we had to still go to the airport 3 hours prior since we didn't get the notification early enough to change plans. We spent over 5 hours at the airport before take off so this time I'm using Uber for departure. We are going to Epcot on our departure day then lunch/pool until we leave for MCO.

Our departure flight is around the same time. We have an 11:30 reservation at 'Ohana, then I figure we'll just explore the Poly for a bit and take the boat or monorail back to CR when it's time to catch the DME bus.

The Contemporary still has an arcade(at least they did last June), that's a fun way to kill some time. Play some skee ball and air hockey for a little bit. You can watch the parasailers on the lake for a bit too, that's always fun.
Also, I don't want to be a downer, but Orlando has notoriously horrible airport security. The lines can be vicious. We have the Clear pass and it is still a nightmare getting through those lines. We have cut it close many times even with the long ME window. Just be prepared for the possibility. I hope you have a great trip!

I love the boats! I would take one from the MK to Fort Wilderness and then walk to WL and explore that resort. I never remember which boat goes where, but I somehow manage to be on one that stops at the lake resorts. It is a lot of fun, but honestly the ride to FW is one of the most serene trips.

True story. The last time I flew out of MCO, it wasn't just the length of the lines that were a problem, but the absolute fiasco of disorganization. They had lines merging into lines, but not just at the beginning. They had lines joining up with lines in the middle! People were getting angry and not letting people in, so it was like a traffic jam at rush hour. I think it took over an hour to get through security.

Basically, don't have a leisurely meal on the street side of security. If you're going to have a relaxed meal, get through security first and eat at your concourse.

We usually go to Disney Springs. We eat at the Earl of Sandwich and just wander around in shops that we normally would not go in.

Totally depends on your family - we have gone for one last monorail ride getting off at the Poly and the Grand Floridian, we've take a boat ride around the lake not even getting off, just enjoying the scenery. We pick up snacks and treats, do last minute shopping, we even go for a swim and then get dressed and showered in the fitness room. For us - 2 to 3 hrs is easy to kill. I would not go to Disney Springs as you'd spend most of your time in transport and not actually doing anything there. Plus I hate to be far away and then stressing about missing ME!
