Cast: DD6, DW, DMIL, and "the Pup"
After a late night we all slept in. For me that meant 6:30am. Up to deck 9. Coffee, croissants, and the hot tub. Ahhhh, relaxation!!!! For the first time in weeks I truly felt relaxed. We need to do this "cruise thing" more often! After a dip in the pool I took a walk around deck 10. I love looking out and seeing nothing but water. I find it very peaceful, and soothing. The sun was shining. Everything was alright in my world!
By 8:30am it was time to return to the room to see if my family was awake. Sure enough they were ready for a day at sea! DD6 was ready for the pool! First stop, however, was breakfast at Topsiders. Fresh fruit, and made to order omlettes. Afterwards, DD6 & I went to the Goofy Pool, while DW & DMIL went to a shopping talk. DD6 is a "fish" who loves the water. Every chance she gets she heads for a pool. We had a fun time. All too soon, though it was time to get dried off, and head for the Mickey 200!
Off to the Promanade Lounge where we were given a potato, carrot, 4 wheels, and a knife. Our Mission: design and build a winning "vegetable" race car in 10 minutes. Not being mechanically inclined, I was happy we could keep all of the pieces together. DW & DMIL showed up in time to see our race. Although we didn't win, at least our car stayed together as it sailed down the track. The gentleman who won, I believe was an engineer (seriously).
As we were walking toward the Atrium we noticed a long line. I assumed it must be the characters were there. DD6 is afraid of the characters...but wait...I think I see Princesses. One, two, three...Oh my, it's an Atrium filled with Disney Princesses! DD6 is in heaven. They quickly get in line while I run to the room to get DD6's autograph book. I return just before they get to the autograph table. To our surprise Cinderella writes in her book, "To Kathryn....best wishes, Cinderella". How did she know her name, and the correct spelling?! We just chalked it up to"Disney Magic".
Well it was lunch time. Didn't we just eat? Oh well, off to Topsiders. As we left, we passed by Scoops. DD6 "needed" ice cream with sprinkles. I couldn't let her eat by herself, so I "forced myself" to have ice cream with chocolate sauce and almonds.
We decided to see the matinee of "The Golden Mickeys". As we passed down the hall between Mickey's Mates and Treasure Ketch the red carpet was rolled out, and the paparazzi were there to take our pictures. We watched Rona Rivers (?) interview somebody, and then off to an already full theatre. The show was great. It's certainly not to be missed!
Following the show we browsed through the shops, and then returned to our room. We have found an afternoon nap does wonders for our family. Of course DD6 says she's not tired. She agrees to lay down quietly next to me. Within a few minutes she was joining us in our snoring contest. DW was content with her earplugs.
By the time we got awake it was time to get ready for formal night! DD6 wore her fancy "Belle" costume, complete with long white gloves. Everyone looked great! As for dinner, I like to sample several things, so I always order at least two appetizers. DW rolls her eyes at me, but the servers are more than happy to accomodate my requests. On our last cruise (4/26/04) Darko always took my order, then brought out his favorites (appetizers, entree, dessert) for me to sample. Darko spoiled me last year. I loved it. This year our meals were usually finished in about 75 minutes. The upside to this was that it gave us time to watch the Cabaret shows in Rockin' Bar D. First DD6 went off to the O Club to make "Flubber". She enjoyed it last year, and really looked forward to doing this again. The adults were off to Rockin' Bar D. I believe tonight's cabaret show featured a magician (someone correct me if I'm wrong). We enjoyed the show, and then checked out Shutters, and the shops. Before long DW & DMIL were getting tired, and returned to the room. I went to the O Club to pick up DD6. What did she want to do? That's right...head straight up to the Goofy Pool stage and put on another dance show. Another night of DD6 & Daddy dancing. I'm sure we put on quite a show for the people who passed by.
Eventually, we tired (Daddy before DD6), and returned to our room where the Disney Magic rocked us to sleep.
