(2) 14 yr old girl teens

I was also looking at the RCL Oasis. I read the food was just mediocre and was told to dine at the Non-inclusive restaurants and a lot of the activities were extra cost. Did you find this to be true? My husband and I thought the Disney cruise food was really nice, we liked the rotation of Dining rooms and the buffet food was really good with lots of options and the entire experience seemed top notch with customer service and cleanliness etc... So, now that my daughter is older we want to make sure she would still enjoy the Disney atmosphere and activities or maybe try another cruise. We also want to have a good time too. Haha
I would love to hear your reviews on other cruises to compare with Disney.
Thank you!

Sailed with my daughter on DCL when she was 8 and 10. Loved it both times.

That being said, she spent a fair amount of time in the clubs on the first cruise, and not nearly as much on the second. She was starting to get to the point of "I'm on vacation and want to lay in a lounger, read my books and listen to my ipod", rather than participate in organized activities.

Knowing that, when we sailed again last year (she was about to turn 12), we ended up sailing on the new NCL Escape. Since all she/we wanted to do was relax on sea days and she was interested in doing the evening activities with us (the shows/karaoke/dueling pianos/etc), it didn't make sense to pay nearly double for an oceanview room on DCL, compared to the large balcony mini-suite we had on NCL (large enough for 3 loungers, a table and 2 chairs) and the unlimited adult beverage package.

There was a teen club available to her on NCL, but my little nerdette was thrilled to have unlimited reading time instead (she's a tv-meh, books-yay kind of girl), so we can't comment on its quality.

All to say that DCL is great, but for what she/we were looking for out of a cruise, DCL no longer fit the bill for us. Sounds like you might be in the same boat (pun intended).

We just cruised with friends of ours, their daughter and mine are really close. They are 14, had a great time together. Didn't do the club, BUT we only did a 3 night- so not much time for that. Plus, it was the Halloween cruise- so very action packed. My daughter is an only child and said that was her favorite Disney cruise(it was our 7th) because she had a friend there. They went to the pool, went to the movies, played mini golf, danced at the Pirate party, aquaduck by themselves. We have planned to do another with the same family in 2018(and a 7 night one), and they said they are definitely doing the teen clubs then.
