Or has it been your experience that there is enough to just share with them? I guess it really depends on whether the parents and child are big eaters, but I really just wanted to see what most people have experienced in the past. I will probably budget for kid meals OOP and then if we don't spend it all - great.

Thanks!

on it depending on the parents is spot on. My wife shared most meals with our four year old this past summer.

I went w/ my 3.5 yr old son in 2003 and I rarely got him his own meal. Most of the time, at counter service, I ordered a larger meal than I'd normally eat and share w/ him. And at Table service, I would order two appetizers and share w/ him then too. I found that ordering two apps and a salad was cheaper than most of the nicer restaurants entrees and then I had more variety and my son was able to share w/ me and try things that were new to him. I hate ordering off the kid's menu for my kids because most of the time the choices are so boring (chicken fingers, pizza, mac n cheese).

He's eight now and his little brother is now four. So when we go in Oct, I'm planning on ordering them one adult meal to share instead of two kids' meals.

It definitely depends on the child. At 2-1/2, my grandson gets meals on his own. But at the same age, my granddaughter shared with her mother.

remember, it's just for table service and counter service...at buffets and family style meals (lots of the character meals) are free for under 3!

My dd and I continue to share, and she's 5 now. She is not fond of the typical kids' foods found at WDW (pizza, corn dog bites, etc.) and is a pretty adventurous eater.

If your child is a picky eater, you may want to get him/her separate meals. My DD lives on macaroni and cheese, and we don't touch the stuff.
