1st weekend in June - crowds

For those of you traveling this weekend, I would be very interested to hear a report on crowd level. We usually go the first weekend in May, but next year we may have to push our trip back to the first weekend in June. We will probably only be going to Epcot and Typhoon Lagoon. I'm wondering if the crowd level would be higher than we're used to (or the heat!!.) Also, what impact would Gay Days have on things? Thanks.

Hi,

You can be sure that the first week of June will be MUCH more crowded (and probably hotter and with more t-storms) than the first week of May.

Check www.gaydays.com or www.gayday.com for scheduling info.

Star Wars Weekend will also have an impact on Studios attendance.

Finally, many schools are out for the summer now and that increases crowds too.

My son is there right now for SWW and I'll try to get you more details when I hear from him.

Oh, I was afraid that was going to be the response. Maybe we could try the 2nd or 3rd week of May. I assume Memorial Day weekend would be bad too.

We just returned from our trip (May 19-May 28)---the first part of our week was great---very manageable crowds, low wait times....about Friday before Memorial weekend we saw a tremendous increase in crowds...wait times increased to 60-75 minutes on the more popular rides..and it was hot, hot. Thank goodness for the park hopper...we would visit a park in the morning, get out when crowded, chill by the pool then go back to a park at night. It made a huge difference in our ability to enjoy our vacation. Also, we did not do any EMH...first time we have never used the morning EMH--but it was nice not to have to get up so very early in order to make it to the gates prior to opening at 8am.
