***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Ok, I have some ADR questions for you all. I was looking at the ADR spreadsheet as I was doing my search and I was wondering if it was up to date? Just want to make sure I spend my time searching for things you all really still need:

@Iowamomof4 I am searching still for your Tusker breakfast on 11/29
@rasadkowski I am still looking for your Ohana dinner on 12/5
@JamieOak, do you still need an 'Ohana on the dates you have on there? It sounded from your last post that you were set with 'Ohana.
@Lisa F did you give up on wanting that BOG lunch on 12/2 now that you are planning on LTT and doing a BOG on your last day?
@Mintycake are you still looking for 1900 PF on 12/8?
@CaleCakes and @candycane the things you're looking for on 12/8 are not things I can grab for you because at the moment I'm holding ADRs at those times. Just wanted you to know that I haven't forgotten about you!
Haven't gotten all the way caught up yet but wanted to be sure to respond to this. We have a TH ADR for 11/29!! However, it is at 8 AM and I'm nervous about that. I'd love to find something between 10 and 10:30, but even 9:45 would work. So we're kind of on the fence here. We have something that definitely works, but I might tweak it if I get the chance. :)

This isn't trip related at all, however it is holiday/Disney related. Today, I'm starting to get ready for Thanksgiving. Most years we participate in a "Friendsgiving", and it's really for anyone who doesn't have a family nearby and/or can't travel to go see them. It really varies on who comes. I just learned on Sunday that the original host has backed out due to medical issues. I volunteered to host, and I'm realizing that it's a bit nutty for us to take on.

So, I'm thinking about adding some Disney touches to the meal/day. The kids will have some Mickey crafts, and I'm thinking about making some Mickey sugar cookies or Mickey Rice Crispy treats for the dessert table. After the meal is served, we'll play Mickey's Christmas Carol and maybe Belle's Magical Christmas. We'll have 30 adults and 20 kids, ranging in ages from 11-newborn.

If the weather holds, I may even get a bouncy house. The goal is to keep the kids busy. ;)

But first, I need to pack and get the trip stuff organized. :)

um. why did you all post about teepublic? :faint:

I'm quite proud of the fact that I managed to avoid ordering anything from there! But then my Etsy order had been getting so big, I just couldn't really afford it! :rotfl:

And speaking of orders, my sling bag arrived today, woot! Seems like it's exactly perfect for what I was looking for. Phone pocket on the chest strap (and my phone fits!), water bottle holder on the side, and good pouches and pockets inside the 2 compartments. And not too big too, since it's just going to be me.

One thing at a time.

I ordered the tables and chairs. We're going to move our living room furniture to the garage, so we can set up 6, 60 inch tables.

As for food, I'm cooking the turkey and ham. Everyone else is bringing a side dish, alcohol, or dessert.

It's just a place where people can come if they don't have anywhere else to go.

I think that's a really nice thing to do. I don't have family here so we do the same thing. Our friends take turns hosting different holidays and DH and I usually host a late night 'after Christmas dinner' party kind of thing. It's always great fun and keeps the sadness of not being with family pushed back a little... :)

This sounds so lovely. I miss nice Thanksgiving dinners (we celebrate Canadian a month early so ours is done already). My mom used to make a nice one before she got sick. My sister (who I don't get along with) moved about an hour out of town and now invites my parents and my other sister and her kids but not me or DH (she says she doesn't have room but honestly I know that's not the reason, it's because we don't like each other). So we go to see DH's dad and brother and I usually order something from Whole Foods and just heat it up (I'm not much of a cook besides vegetarian stuff). The two of them are just so weird and unpleasant to be around but I go up for DH's sake and DD loves her grandfather, even though he doesn't pay much attention to her. I know this is awful but I can't wait for the day that we don't need to go up there anymore and we can just do the three of us Thanksgiving or celebrate with friends who don't have somewhere to go (I used to do this when I was single).

 I think we all need a hug today!

Of course it's not too nosey @Talby!!! :) :)
This is such a busy time of year for us. I think I wrote about how I love Halloween :) and of course Christmastime!! So our weekends have been jam packed with parties, costume stuff, etc. so then during the week I've just been busy getting all of the housework done. And still putting the house back together after the renovations!
And like every cousin has a birthday party in oct / nov!
Plus, I usually am so on top of Christmas presents for my family. I am so embarrassed to admit that I'm always usually done with lists and most shopping by now! And this year I haven't even started. I've been spending a lot of time online ordering stuff :)
Today I spent the day taking down our ghosts and spiders and stuff because even though I love them I can't stand seeing them after Halloween! Time to start digging out the Xmas stuff! And with us being away for quite a bit of the Christmastime here while we're at Disney I have to set it up a bit earlier this year for maximum Christmas decoration enjoyment :)

Question or thought for you guys ! Reading through I noticed some new ppo adrs people have been adding! It made me start to think about our MK days. Are some of you planning to switch MK days if park hours change? Specifically to 8am? Or are you guys planning to just go with the 8am opening and enjoy breakfast before you head to the rides.
I may have asked this before? But I was just curious. Wondering if I should try to get a ppo for an alternate day.... Or even plan fp for that day too....I just was checking out the wdw calendar, and there are so many 8am days for November
See this?! Too much time waiting means too much time to think about changing plans!!
Next week I'll probably contemplate scratching the whole trip for a. Disney cruise

Yep, we have an open door policy in our home. For this gathering, its a nice mix of singles, couples and families. Just a bit of everything!

The holidays can be such a painful time for some and for us to be able to provide a meal and friendship means so much. I'm hoping one day our girls will pick up on that and carry that with their own family.

if you are Italian or from an area with a large italian-american population and amazing italian restaurants you will be disappointed. If you are ok with chain italian like the Olive Garden it will probably be fine. Tony's gets a TON of hate but then every once in a while someone who just ate there on a trip pops up and posts that it was good. As long as you are not expecting the best thing you ever ate it is probably fine, esp if DD is a fan :)
Too funny... I AM Italian, and was raised in upstate New York. I've had some great Italian food, and love to cook Italian. My kids won't order lasagna or meatballs out. But, DD was raised in central Virginia, and most Italian food here is mediocre. After 25 years in VA, we have gotten pretty use to it...then add my new gf issues...that lowers my expectations even further!

@Mrs. Inc I know there are a few people who really like Tony's, but there are a majority of people who do not. Have you thought about The Wave at CR. It's a short walk there and they have very good food. It's becoming a not-so hidden gem and I'm sure she can find something she'll eat.
That's something to consider. I looked at grand Floridian cafe, but never thought about the wave. Will check out the menu. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks for posting the link to the spreadsheet. I added my lunch at BOG request.

Sue, do you have touring plans alerts or *********** alerts set up for this? Both have been very helpful to me these past few days; *********** a bit less so because it just searches for availability during the entire meal period and not time like touring plans does. Unfortunately the date/time you want conflicts with my H&V lunch so I wouldn't be able to pick one up for you if I found it...

The reason you eat at Tony's is to eat on Main Street, and perhaps get a prime viewing spot for FoF (if you book the package). We ate there last year. My mom had the pizza, I had the stuffed pasta, and DD ate off of our plates. It was okay. The olive oil tasted more like Canola oil, but after we requested hot pepper flakes it tasted better.

The tiramisu was delicious though.
