***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

How to multi-quote:

1. it doesn't work if you are on an iPhone or iPad. It only works if you can see the options to like, +quote, or reply in the lower right corner
2. to multiquote an entire post, just click on the +quote option
3. to just quote a portion of the post, like a sentence or a paragraph, then highlight the section that you want to quote and the option to +quote should appear. Click on that.
4. after you have gathered all the quotes that you want to comment on, go down to the empty reply box and choose "insert quotes" in the lower left hand corner. Click on "quote theses messages" and then they should all appear.
5. you can write your responses in between each of the quotes, then hit reply.
Ohhhh ok! I am always on my iPhone!! Thank you so much for the steps :) I'll try to do my replying from the computer.

Good idea...my girls have never been good nappers . They wake up between 459 ( seriously..459 on the dot.. Always! . The "4" makes it so much worse!!! ) and 530. But they're in bed around 730 now ( 630-7 in the winter) ... Party option not looking good over here. Grrr. I guess we'll just have to go to Disney at least two more times. Gotta hit both parties!!
Oh my! 4:59am! Wow... I can see why they would be asleep that early too! Mine generally wakes up around 6:30-7:30am, sometimes a little earlier and in the rare occasion a little before 6. He would nap everyday too so I'm a little worried about not doing breaks on some days...

I'm going to correct my instructions. You can see the +quote feature on the iPhone and you can multi-quote, but it seems as if you can only multi-quote entire posts. I haven't been able to multi-quote paragraphs or sections of people's posts.

Love, love, love all the party and parade info....

I think it's a great idea to meet-up to save parade/Fireworks spots for each other.

Now... I need help....
11/27 we have a 5:30 'Ohana Dinner....
What would you do after dinner.?
-head to Epcot for Illuminations or hang around the Poly and watch wishes from the beach.

11/28- our DHS day. We'll be there all day until F!. After F!?
-where to go MK for Wishes or walk to Epcot for Illuminations?

@LisaF that has to be the beat holiday card I have EVER seen!

I love hearing all about the Christmas party!! The snow, and the characters.. It sounds so fun! Have any of you been before? Or Have any of you been to the HAlloween party? Looking at the posted photos it looks like soooo much fun. Maybe our next trip when the girls are older I'll plan for that!! I l Love Halloween :) it'll be hard to choose between the two!

I've never been to the Christmas party, but in 2009 we went to MNSSHP and did F&W, and it was our favorite trip ever!! The Halloween party was just so much fun, with everyone dressed up, and the trick or treating. We brought my 6 yo cousin and she had SO much fun! We rode Haunted Mansion like 6 times that night, and at the end of the night CM's were just dumping bowls of candy into her bag. It was such a blast, and I'm really hoping the Christmas party is just as fun!

This photo is so beautiful! The only view that could top that would be to dress up as a gingerbread and sneak onto one of the floats!! I want to go now!!

Ditto!! I am in love with that view! I also have a snowglobe affinity, so hope we see something like it!
@Candycane83 and @Lisa F I remember watching one of the night parades (Spectromagic) near the flag poles, and then just walking up Main Street closer to the Hub and getting a good spot standing for the fireworks. Are you guys thinking of doing the 1st parade or the 2nd?
Also, love the idea of the glow bracelets! We did that during MNSSHP and the kids around us loved it! It was a cool way to spread a little magic :)

I know - DH and I would love to see this parade, but I showed DD a highlights video of the parade which she deemed as "boring" and also, she can only stay up to about 9:30pm at the latest without turning into a total sh!tshow. For us the risk was too great for the Christmas party to spend all that money and then potentially have to leave the park early. I'm still worried about how we're going to watch regular wishes on 12/7 - I have my Narcoosees late dinner reserved but I'm wondering if even that might be too late for the kiddo given the fact that we'll be in MK all day, albeit with a later start. Is anyone going to Wishes/parade that night too and want to meet up? I wanted to do the Gone Mad Party at GF but it sounds like it's crazy crowded (and I'm trying to avoid crazy. Would it be better from Narcoosees? Do they have a balcony or something)?

That's the other thing that bothers me about my flow just a bit. On these boards there is a HUGE emphasis on RD (and we are planning to RD and PPO on some days). But I just don't think our family can do a RD AND a late night. Granted our only real late night will be 12/7 and I've got the option to sleep in the next day (and the next day won't be a late night). Just worried lines will be horrendous at MK if we don't RD. But I think between FP+ and SDFP I should be okay?

Just from a logistics POV, it makes sense to me on 11/27 to watch Wishes since you're already there. You could also resort hop around that area and check out some of the Christmas decorations while you wait.

For 11/28, (along the same line of thinking), I'd go to Epcot and watch Illuminations and go in through the World Showcase entrance. @Lisa F gave me a great idea to either get the boat or bus to Boardwalk, and just walk to the back entrance to Epcot. You could also just walk the whole way if you didn't want to wait for Disney transportation. :)

Aww, please don't feel pressure to do what you think is the Dis Norm. You absolutely know your family best and what will work. In the end as long as you're doing some planning, that's going to be better than probably 50% of the people in the parks who show up without researching or planning anything.
Also, see how your DD does when you get there. You all may be so excited that what is the norm at home is not what happens on vacation, KWIM? It'll all be fine, and you'll end up having a fabulous vacation!

Hello everyone! Haven't posted on here in about a week. Spent a few days at Hershey Park the week before Labor Day and it was awesome. DD8 and DS1 had a blast. FYI for anyone who cares: this is an AWESOME week to go to Hershey. Very low crowds and most every ride was walk-on with no wait because all local schools started back the week before.

It seems I have a lot of catching up to do on this thread. Hope everyone is working on their "final draft" of ADRs before FP dates arrive.

I can tell right now, roomie and I won't be rope drop people. I am NOT a morning person, and even though I do generally get up relatively early when I'm on vacation (because I'm so stinking excited), I don't see us getting to rope drop more than maybe once or twice the whole week. We are much more late night people. :)

@BDFmom I totally agree with this. Logistically, it would make sense more since Disney transportation takes a while too. :) Maybe you could find out where outside of MK to watch besides poly beach and go around the monorail resorts :) or go full circle and go back to poly beach to watch. I think you would be done with dinner long before wishes starts.

@Mintycake again I agree with @areno79 comments! I think you should just do what you can. Don't feel pressured to do something just because these boards recommend it. In the end, if you push your family, someone would probably be miserable. :) I've just become a morning person because DS wakes up that early (which is technically not that early). Generally, whenever we have an early morning, I would try to fit in a break somewhere. Still hoping for some hours to be extended though :P

they are but for regular wishes, not for the holiday parties. I was kind of wishing they had it for the holiday parties, I would keep it!
Has this been confirmed for Holiday Wishes Dessert Party? I have an ADR for it and was hoping that when reviews start showing up here on the Dis that maybe the 2nd (outside) viewing location would be open for Dessert Party guests. The real value (for us) is the reserved parade viewing so 99% sure we'll keep the ADR. Just hoping the rumors about Holiday Wishes viewing area turn out to be untrue.

I'm thinking of the first parade because I'm afraid DS won't make it to the second one. I could either do the dessert party (still waiting for reviews) or stake out a spot. My problem is my late BOG dinner (6:20 :() Not sure what time the parade starts this year but I'm hoping to be out of BOG before 7:30pm and going directly to Main Street to hold a spot. Hopefully it does not take more than an hour to hold a spot!

@Lisa F and I are hoping for the same... we'd definitely keep the dessert party if the viewing was outside! But so far I have not seen reviews of the party yet.

Gotcha. Definitely worth hanging on to that ADR until 100% sure you don't want it because it is currently showing NO availability (for my date anyway) so chances are once it's canceled, you wont be able to get it back if you change your mind.

Yup same here, will hang onto my reservation until I'm 110% sure I really don't want it! :P

@Mintycake We are not RD people and honestly, I've never seen an opening show. I like sleeping in a little, having a nice breakfast/early lunch and then staying up to close down the parks. Everyone does Disney differently and what works for some, doesn't for others. If I tried to get M to wake up and be at a park in the 7am hour, he would probably try to commit me (kidding). I admit I get a little overzealous and super excited at Disney, but I'm not insane.

maybe a lot of traveling but I would do this
11/27, head to epcot for Illuminations. say dinner ends even at 7:30 (and that is very on the late side), that is a LOT of time to kill waiting for Wishes. I'd rather be walking around epcot for 2 hours.

11/28 I'd see wishes that night even though it is more travel because you're likely to be done later with the travel time. If you want to see it from the poly take some time and go to trader sams or the outside bar, get a couple of drinks and chill out.

first parade even though it is "more crowded." To me it seems like the flow is better... do some rides, park for parade, do fireworks, do more rides. I am not really into the characters though.
