***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

That's what I thought you were referring to :) :) ... About soarin.... I'll keep that in mind!!! Hahaha :) I get SEVERE motion sickness, and when I read some threads about that I made a mental check " nope!"
what have you read? I get sick on anything super spinny (I was glad at the fair that I had an empty stomach on that one ride, but had to close my eyes). Because you are not really moving much at all (just some slight movements to simulate bigger movements along with the visual cues of the film) you can always just close your eyes if it is bothering you and it will feel like sitting in a chair with some slight bumps, not enough motion to make you sick. But honestly you should give it a try. It is truly the most lovely ride at WDW.

That's great!! Glad you got the ADR! For BOG, you can try breaking up the reservation to smaller groups n see if you can get everyone within 15 mins if each other. Since it is lunch n CS you can sit wherever you want anyway :)

Wow! That's so great! She's all ready for Disney! :) hope your DS2 does well too and enjoy your mini vacation ;)
Thank you! If I remember correctly, it was you who suggested switching our HDDR and BOG days. It makes total sense to do that. So thank you again for the great suggestion from a few pages ago!!

From what I have read (and it makes sense to me) there is zero impact on RD. there are so few people, and they are all doing the rides the RD people want to do before the RD people will be let in, so by the time RD happens it should be like any other RD. it's not like extra magic hours where there are tons of people filling up the queues before regular RD. It's what, 150 people or something? who will have had their fill of the mine train by the time you get there. No worries! scratch that one off your list (the concerns, not the plans!) Also it is pretty much a guarantee they won't open the MK at 8AM, which WOULD screw up your PPO in a big way... because they are not going to take everyone's money and then tell them they need to be there at 6:30am. not sure the sun is even up then that time of year!:rotfl:

the dis has them right here, they are large enough to get full detail.
Totally agree with this! 250 vs everyone coming in at 8am, I would definitely take 250. This way you know for sure MK will open at 9am. :)

12/9 HDDR roll call!

who is doing it? I know at least one other person is. I'm there at 6:15.

Huh, the funny thing is I don't get sick anywhere but in the car.... :rotfl:Unfortunately, my son gets sick in the car too and has vomitted a few times on us:sick:. I always bring those small plastic bags (for poopie diapers and now for puke) for this reason. I'm hoping he does not get motion sick on any ride at WDW :( I will have to remember to bring those bags...

@rasadkowski I get severe motion sickness and still love Soarin' and never felt bad on it. Of course, I always wear Sea Bands, so that helps. I can't do: Star Tours, Expedition Everest, Mad Hatter, Mission Space, BTMR, Space Mountain or O'Canada (there may be more).

@Maryemdc you're good!! I thought I was obsessed stalker!! I didn't even notice the HS description!!! Please keep us posted!! Does it just keep saying "no tables available" for you, too? I was like a kid in a candy store this morning, since HS updated the next morning with availability..I thought MK EMM would too!!!! :)

I'm trying to check every 15 minutes (while appearing to be working....)!!

Good morning! Long night, DD2 was up every 1.5 hours.:sad2: Anyway, DD1 is off to school, and we're going to lay low today.

On the trip front, our new luggage was delivered last night. It's pretty nice. I think I'm going to need 1 more 28 inch bag. Not a huge deal, and I'll go get one at some point.

So, who is ordering groceries to have in the room? We're Amazon Prime members so I think we'll just go ahead and use them. It's just so much cheaper than gardengrocer.com and they have more baby things. I'm slowly compiling my list.

ETA: 90 days till departure! and 30 days till FP+!

Oh no! Get lots of rest today with your DD2.

That's great about the luggage! :) As for groceries, I'm thinking about doing a car service since we're going to Universal first. How's the fruit selection at Publix? I've never been and would like to get more fruits for DS2. I figure I can pack most baby stuff but not fruits and cheese :P

@rasadkowski I get awful motion sickness too! Like, I HAVE to drive when we go places or I will get sick. However, I do Soarin with no problem! The one ride I will absolutely never do again is in AK- Primeval Whirl. Way too much spinning while going up and down. There's a pic DH took of me years ago at the end of that ride where I am giving a pukey death stare at him! :rotfl2:

@Lisa F I'm in for HDDR on 12/9 at 6:15. I chose cat 2 though so we can use DDP.

@Maryemcd Yes, that was me looking for a 12/8 'Ohana dinner! Right now we have a 5:45 CP ADR for that night, so if I don't get Ohana that night it's not the end of the world. Also, we have an Ohana dinner on 12/6 if I don't get 12/8 :thumbsup2

@Candycane83 I am obsessed with checking too! Luckily I work at home, but I have to be careful because I could just get sucked into looking at Disney stuff all day!

@pigletgirl We're planning on using Garden Grocer, but I never thought of using Amazon Prime...I'll have to check it out since we're Prime members too. We get things like bottled water, milk and cereal, protein bars and mini muffins for on the go breakfasts, and nuts for quick in park snacks. Its hard to keep it healthy though since we mostly eat low-moderate carb at home, and when we're touring we aren't realy breakfast people.

Publix is pretty good; at least it was whenever we've gone. If you can do a car service, and you don't mind taking time out to stop at a store, you can do that. I think there's one right near the gate near Disney Springs. There's a shopping plaza near there with a grocery store and some restaurants (including the best Hooters we've ever been to...they have a Mickey shaped table and the wings were delish!)

agree with this assessment. I do NOT get seasick but I get very motion sick on anything spinny (fair rides are the worst) or any virtual reality rides or in the back seat when the driver is erratic and brakes and starts hard. I have never gotten sick on anything at disney ridden once. 3 times in a row on space mountain in rapid succession had me feeling a little unwell but not to the point of hurling. But I can do ANYTHING once without any ill effects. even mad hatter!

@Candycane83 - Publix is a nice grocery store. Their produce is wonderful.

The last 2 trips we've taken, we used Garden Grocer and while the simplicity of them is nice, we never need the amount they want for a minimum order. With Amazon Prime/Pantry, I can get the things I really do need, in a reasonable amount without paying more than we'd want and/or need. I'll definitely be shipping diapers down there, along with disposable sippys/mats/utensils. I'll pack enough diapers for our stay at BCV.

I am a bit worried about motion sickness too on Mission Space. I hear green is less intense?

Aw rest today. I was thinking of garden grocer but maybe if amazon prime is cheaper I'll check it out? I'm looking mainly for fruit and vegetables so not sure they carry it

@Talby thanks so much for continuing to look for the rest of us! I'm so glad you got your H&V dinner! The sad thing is...I already have a F! H&V dinner booked on 12/3, but I'd much rather move it to 12/6 so I can do the SW dessert party on 12/3. I also have a 6:20 H&V dinner (non-F!) booked on 12/6 :guilty:, but that's just too late to catch F!, and 12/6 is really the only night I can fit that in. I feel bad for holding onto an extra ADR, but I'm still waiting for them to announce SW dessert party days/times.

I have heard that the other parks (especially Epcot) are busier during MVMCP nights, but I've never been to witness it. Maybe if ROL is open at AK, that will help alleviate some of the potential Epcot crowd. Also, I think I missed that you're staying at AoA...so are we! I'm not going to lie, pretty psyched that I am staying in a Little Mermaid room. LOL

So, now that I FINALLY got my HDDR :yay:, I'm only waiting on 2 ADR's. I currently have H&V and 'Ohana booked, but the days/times just don't work out for our plans. Really hoping to switch my 'Ohana dinner from 12/6 to 12/8 so we can go before MVMCP, and then hoping to switch my F! H&V from 12/3 to 12/6.

I talked to DH tonight about EMM, and he's very much on the fence like I am. They are offering it on 12/4 (which was our planned MK day anyway), but I'm just having a hard time justifying the money for only 3 rides. I wish they opened up the rest of Fantasyland, then it would be a no-brainer.

I 100% understand your rationale. As much as I love, Love, LOVE Disney, it does not seem unreasonable to my mind that once we are essentially needing to make ADRs, we should also simultaneously have all info necessary to make an informed decision. It's a tricky undertaking when we don't have all the pieces of the puzzle! I'm more than happy to help look! I want to change my regular H&V into a H&V with F! but I'm utterly paranoid about dropping it to pick it up as a F! :scared: Congrats on your HDDR!! Woot woot!!

Awww...thanks so much for the tag @rasadkowski!! And for the quick HDDR alert! And for joining this thread! :flower3:

@Candycane83 I had mentally let HDDR go and we were all geeked about SOA, yep! BUT (there's always a but)....

HDDR was my first love!! haha It was the very first thing I looked for ADR wise so maybe it's silly, but I was all attached to the idea of going. I was so sure I would never get it because there was absolutely no availability when I first began looking (past 180 day mark; no idea about ADRs being held, that people cancelled all the time, ect.) and I was so disappointed. Given the recent developments (and all the fun talk about it!) now I'm thinking maybe it would be a great way to start off our trip? I did have Epcot planned. IllumiNations is so high on our list this trip. Our flight has us landing in Orlando at 11 (thought it was noon, but it's 11 a.m.). Would booking the 4:00 HDDR allow us plenty of time to fully enjoy that experience and then get over to Epcot for maybe a couple of rides and then IllumiNations? Assuming the flight is on time. :-) Just in case, I went ahead and booked it for arrival night. Have to fit Coral Reef in though, so I'll be performing the ever-popular juggling act again! :-)

That's actually how I got my F! At H&V. I saw on the app that there was a 4:25 at H&V, so I went over to the Disney website and it ended up showing up under Fantasmic packages! Worst case, I'll get a FP+ for F! if I can't get the package I want. I just trust that it'll all work out in the end!
I think an 11am flight should be enough time to get over to FW for HDDR. It sounds like an awesome way to start off vacation! We're doing the opposite and ending our vacay with it.

I haven't been, so I don't know for certain :) but could you try to get fp early for the princesses?
Hi yes I can FP Cinderella /aurora and Rapunzel /Tina but that burns 2 fp (and the third might be Ariel). So the SDFP is important to me (we established cards work for this if you don't have mbs right). Merida has no fp. Neither do Mulan (epcot), Snow White, or Alice (all on the must do list).
