1st visit with orthodontist tomorrow - what do expect?

I know I'm definitely going to need braces, and my bottom teeth are pretty crowded. What can I expect for my first orthodontist visit tomorrow? I'm kinda scared. /:

A lot of talking and he may look inside your mouth.
Not gonna lie to you the day you get your braces on its very uncomfortable. Just depending on your ortho. getting them off may hurt. They had to take some sort of tool and get the cement off my braces that hurt but everyone's pain tolerance is different.

They'll probably look at your mouth, take x-rays, talk to you about what they think needs to be done.
Nothing overly exciting.

Getting them off hurt me because they needed to sand the glue off my teeth and it was blowing cold air into my teeth. My teeth are sensitive in places so that drove them wild.

all they did for my first visit was take pictures of my mouth and talk.
that's pretty much it.

my dad is an ortho and when his patients go for the first time he usually looks at their mouth and teeth and tht stuff to see what he is going to have to do. then he sends them to another room where one of his assistants takes x-rays and pictures. and thats it.

Mine took photos of me, and my teeth and took X-rays, then looked my teeth and then told us what there treatment plan for me would be...
They also discussed payment options and then gave me a appointment to get my braces on...

Don't Freak. My first day with braces they only felt weird. The next day they were very sore. You will probably get spacers first so the first trip there won't be metal in your mouth.

The most they'll do is take a picture of you smiling, take a mold of your teeth and put spacers in. The spacers aren't all that fun, but it's not that bad. It was worse for me when they first put the braces on, because I also have a VERY sensitive mouth and my gums were like D= "ZOMG! WHAT'S THIS MEDAL THING THEY PUT THERE?! WHAAAAA!"

And it does hurt a little bit when they take them off. They say "Ok, now you'll just feel a little pressure." but....it like a lot more than that. D=

Nothing realy ever MAJOR HURTS tho- it's just uncomfortable. The only thing that ever really hurt was after they tightened them, and then I couldn't even bite a TINY M&M without it hurting. That wasn't fun. ;____;

I had gotten pictures taken of my smile, really.
And also a clay impression of my teeth. That was painful. That's something to watch out for, considering it made me gag.

I had a small examination with the dentist; plaque has always been my biggest battle but it's gotten much better.
Then I had a panoramic x-ray. Then I had a wax mold of my upper teeth, then impressions of lower and upper teeth. My lower teeth are PREEEETY bad so I'm needing braces. We have to wait 30-90 days for the insurance company to authorize it. So, it's going to be a long road. /:

i have a tooth that has grown in slightly behind the others, and i had a retainer a few eas ago, but i refused to wear it because i couldnt talk without gagging so now i have to have the full thing. god. those imprints are possibl the worst bit. blegh. my ortho told me i have an 'over-active' gag reflex. that means i gag at like everything that touches my back gums. its reeeaal horrible. sometimes i go through these fazes where i just keep feeling like i am going to gag. its because im worried about alot of things right now but thats going a lil off haha. that means i have to have a drink with me all day. i recently learned that my friend has the same thing so x
