DH & I stayed at the POLY, gardenview, Tahiti bldg.
This must be one of the oldest bldgs. It looked pretty tired.
Enjoyed being on the monorail stop & one stop of the TTC.
We weren't on the dining plan.
However, I did make dinner ADRs online.
Ate breakfast at Cpt Cooks every morning.

Dec 25 – MK
ate at Liberty Tree Tavern. Good for meat eaters. Apple cobbler is kind of lame. Apple filling is congealed. Disney recommends 18-20% tip. FYI, I only tip $ 2 for buffets & max 15% for good service & good food.

Dec 26 – AK
enjoyed safari, Finding Nemo musical, Lion King show.
Ate at Tusker House. Food is very good. Lots of dessert options. Our server was Rosalvo/Maria & I overheard her pressuring 2 tables beside us for tips. “Did you know you could write in a tip here for me ?” I could see one table of 3 agonizing over their tips. At another table, “You don't want to leave a tip for me ?” “No, I don't. This is a buffet.” When our bill came, I totalled it to $ 72. As she walked away from the table, I could see her shock at the tip I wrote. When she brought the slip for me to sign, it wasn't for the $ 72 but for the original amt. I smiled to myself. I think it was her way of pressuring me to tip more. But I only signed it for $ 72. Afterwards, I spoke with a Supervisor & expressed my displeasure at her pressure tactics for tips.

Dec 27 – Epcot Future World
enjoyed Innoventions. Ate at Les Chefs de France. Had ressies for 6 pm but had to wait 30 mins. You really have to keep after the guy otherwise you'll wait forever for your table. We had the prix fixe menu. Very good food. Gave 15% tip here no problem.

Dec 28 – Epcot World Showcase Candlelight Processional.
Enjoyed the Maelstrom ride at Norway. Ate at Marrakesh. Good food. Gave 15% tip here no problem. I thought it was really a processional, not a sit down performance. Our narrator was Marlee Matlin.

Dec 29 – sleep in, Downtown Disney, visit resorts.
Ate breakfast at Kona Cafe. Server Maria was very friendly. Explained 'best' items to order. Asked her if portions were large as I am a small eater. Decided to share Big Kahuna & pot of Kona coffee.
Signed her a 15% tip. When she came for the bill, she looked at the tip amt & said “Was there a problem with the service “ “No, it was fine” ( It was fine until she made that comment ) Lady, we shared a breakfast & a pot of coffee. I'm not giving you more than 15% for that. After this incident, I felt really put off & was scared to be asked for more tips & even considered only eating at QS for future trips.
Visited resorts by monorail & bus. The bus takes way too long.
Dinner at Whispering Canyon. Good food. Gave 15% tip here no problem.

Dec 30 – DHS Day 1
ate at The Wave. Good food. They are very environmentally friendly. Service was indifferent. Gave 15% tip here no problem.

Dec 31 – DHS Day 2
ate at HollyWood & Vine. Asked server for more napkins. “sure' she said but never came back with any. She took away my empty coke glass without asking if I wanted a refill. ( I think I ticked her off when I incorrectly called her Shannon ) She brought the bill while we were eating dessert ( this is a pet peeve of mine. Bill should be brought after the meal ) I went to the ladies room for 15 mins, when I returned, the bill still hadn't been picked up. DH said she was yakking at the next table the whole time. Finally, I paid with cash, no tip & left disgusted.

We enjoyed ourselves but really put off by the pressure to tip Disney amts.
Are cast members supposed to greet you as they pass by ?
Didn't happen every time.
Enjoyed using the 30% discount at QS before noon.
We spent about $ 100 per day for B,L,D ( no snacks )

Does everyone get 30% off before noon or was that something special you got?

It was for certain QS if you ate before noon or between 3-4:30 pm in the afternoon.

Forgot to mention, they also had 20% discount at certain stores if you shopped between 9 am to 12 noon.

I found this - I am guess this is what you are talking about and it is done now..
Here’s an easy way to save vacation dollars and enjoy a delicious theme park dining experience. Between Dec. 19 and Jan. 3 at Disneyland Resort and between Dec. 19 and Jan. 1 at Walt Disney World Resort, you can redeem a voucher to save 30 percent with the purchase of any entrée at select restaurants. But please note that you must dine before noon or between 3 and 4:30 p.m. (and alcohol is excluded).

yeah, the info was posted on this & other DIS discussion boards which said you could print & coupon as many times as you wanted but there was no need to print them because the daily park schedule had a coupon attached. And you did need the coupon, they don't automatically give you the discount.
