1st trip with DVC need ideas

we are going Dec 29th to Jan 11th and really not sure where to stay and really what would be out there at that time to book OKW is my home resort we have stayed there before so would like to try a new place also i dont mind trying 2 resorts TY

i hope you already have OKW booked. at the 7 month window (as soon as possible), check with MS to see what else is possible to try.

but new years is an especially busy period. if you don't have something by now, there is a risk of not getting anything...make sure to lock up an OKW reservation if you can and then worry about changing later...

We love the Beach Club Villas, which are within easy walking distance of Epcot (one of our favorite parks) and the Boardwalk. Via Epcot, you can catch the monorail to Magic Kingdom. And you can get a boat to the Studios from a short pier just outside of the BCV. (Of course, you can get buses to anywhere too!)

We've never had any trouble booking the BCV, even though we own at Bay Tower (which we've never stayed in yet). But we've also never tried to book over such a popular time period.

We just used DVC for the first time 2011/12 during the same time frame you are looking at this coming year. We really wanted to see how we like the non WDW Disney resorts so we stayed at Hilton Head, then BoardWalk, then Vero Beach. I highly recommend doing this to see if you would like future non WDW stays. We fell in love with Vero and are going there for a full week this coming August.

As far as BoardWalk I would go back there but not until we have tried all the DVC resorts .

I don't know what size accommodations you're looking for, but I just checked OKW online and both 1 and 2 bedrooms are available for each of your nights currently. I agree with the PP who encouraged you to book that now and try to change when your 7 month window opens up. OKW is also my home resort so I was unable to check other resorts yet.

For AKV they have savanah and standard view available currently for 1BR and Savanah view for 2BR. Of course by the time your 7 mo window opens that all can change.

If you close in early May, you might make it before the 7 month timeframe and might be able to book something. Otherwise, plan for a different time for your first trip.
