Hello, I posted this on the hotels board, but not sure if it belongs there. We have not been to DisneyWorld in years. We are now working on planning our trip for the spring. Yay! Finally!! I need some help getting started. We have a family of four. We have 8 y/o twins (a boy and a girl) and live in NJ. The last time we went my kids were 2 and we stayed with friends. We are planning on a tight budget so my 1st question would be about the best value Hotel. We want to stay at a park hotel, but have no idea which is the best one. I need as much info as I can get on these hotels. Also, If you stay at the value hotels, can you eat at any of the resort hotel restaurants? I know that these are probably more expensive restaurants, but one nice place to eat would be great! When is the best time in spring to go? Which is the best airline (and the cheapest)? Should we use a travel agent? Can we book a package with flights? Any help on how to start planning would be great!

My neice and I am going in May- We leave the 11th. I am finishing my graduate degree on the 9th- We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. I would start getting prices from different places- AAA, travel agents, the Disney website-
Any thought on the dining plan? We are using it and I have just made my Adv dinner res. :Pinkbounc
Happy Planning :thumbsup2
ps I live in NJ too-- Gloucester County

Hi! All the values are good call and check prices also AllStars Movies has family suites not sure what the prices are though. If you call disney they will be more than happy to help you with some prices. Hope you find a good rate, and you can eat at any restaurant at the other resorts. You can also buy you a book to help you plan your trip, Books-a-million has a lot of them and will help you out. Keep check out the different boards on the dis will help you also.

We always have stayed at the POP and have no complaints. We have had luck getting good airfare prices on Delta but you really need to shop around for that one. If you stay in one resort, you can can eat at any resort/park restaurant. You could consider doing the Disney Dining Plan. We find that it saves TONS of money since we like to eat at sitdown restaurants/ character meals and don't want to be stuck eating burgers and chicken fingers for every meal.

If you have AAA, call them for a quote. You'll get a room discount and can book a package thru them.

We just went on our first trip in October we also wanted to go on a budget. I feel like we did good. We are a family of five me, husband, ds9, dd6, dd2. We stayed at Pop Century! We really liked it. We did splurge and get a preferred room. It was totally worth it. We were by the main building and between two pools and we were on the first floor. I don't think they have elevators for the guest. We did do the dining plan, it was completly worth it. We added it up when we got home and we saved over $300. We ate at so many great places and did three character meals. I would definitly get a planning book. So much stuff that I didn't even know about, like free Chip and Dale campfire and movie. We really enjoyed it. Adrs are a must. Some of the best restuarants are at the other resorts. We enjoyed Chef Mickey's at the Contempory Resort. We did it for breakfast and then rode the monorail over to MK. it was a great start for our first day. The kids got to see all the origianl characters Mickey, minnie, goofy, donald, chip and dale and pluto. It made us really feel like we were in disney. I hope this helps, we are in the process of planning a second trip can't decide fall 2007 or spring 2008! Oh don't forget Fantasmic at MGM kids loved it! :wizard:
