We are planning a 1st time trip for 6 in May 2005. Do any of the resorts have rooms that sleep 6 (4 adults, 2 kids). We are looking the moderate price range and on the park. Any help would be appreciated for this first and very anticipated trip! :earseek:

Welcome to the DIS! Is it two adults and 4 kids or a different variation? What ages are your children?

I belive the value and moderate resorts hold 4 people and child under 3 in a crib. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. You may need to think about adjoining rooms at a Value resort or a Fort Wilderness Cabin.

The moderate that sleeps five is Port Orleans Riverside. This info is copied from Deb's site:

The Riverside Resort has 2,048 rooms, making it the second largest "moderate" resort on the WDW property, after the Caribbean Beach Resort. As mentioned, the rooms are divided into two sections, Magnolia Bend and Alligator Bayou. Most rooms contain two double beds, although some king beds are available, and some rooms have a trundle bed as well. The rooms feature two pedestal sinks, a bathtub/shower with a retractable clothesline, a remote-controlled TV, a dresser, a table with two chairs, and a small luggage rack. Lighting is ample for reading or working, and a small safe is provided for storage of your valuables. Most rooms sleep four comfortably, and some rooms will sleep five.

It is the only moderate with trundle beds. The deluxe resorts have a daybed a child could sleep on, but really for families bigger than 4 it is difficult to find one room accomodations. Can you do two adjoining rooms? Is one of the kids an infant who would sleep in a port a crib?

Good point ADisneyGirl. I forgot about the trundle twin bed at POR. I just looked at the pictures today on allearsnet. You'd think I could remember.

I just read in the original post that it says 4 adults and 2 kids. That is a lot of people in the same room. I believe the POFQ rooms are only a little over 300 sq. feet. I would imagine most other moderates are the same size. If you are going in May you will be in Regular season and a moderate resort standard room is $149 plus 11.5% tax.

That is a good point. A small space and 6 people could mean everyone getting on each others nerves.

My kids are 6 and 8. I suppose 2 rooms would probably work a lot better. Do you have a favorite. The pool will be big draw for us. Since we live in West Texas, we want to make sure and get everything right for the kids first trip.

Especially if you plan on spending all day together too. No matter how much you love each other, you will get on each other's nerves as the day goes by and everyone gets tired.

I hope you have a great time and please post any more questions. Everyone at the DIS is extremely friendly and helpful.

Congrats on the first trip! I hope it is your first of many!

I have stayed at the CBR several times. I have never personally stayed at CSR, but know people who have and they weren't impressed. My next trip I think I am staying at POFQ. I have read so many good things about it.

I have to say though that CBR has the best pools. It is laid out like the real Carribean with different themed buildings, Trinidad, Jamaica, etc. Each theme has its own pool. This is nice to help it not be so crowded. May is great time to go. I went last May and the crowds were fairly low compared to the summer months.
